Pashto Language Map

The Map being used on Battagram District, Buner District, Chitral, Chitral District, Dir, Pakistan, Hangu District, Pakistan,Haripur, Pakistan, Kohat District, Malakand District, Mardan, Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shangle District and Swat District is incorrect. It seems to me that either the editor lacks knowledge or is biased. Districts suchs as Karak, Tank, Shangla, Battagram, and Toor ghar, although more than 90% pashto speaking, are shown as hindko, Saraiki and Kohistani Speaking. Moreover, Mansehra is 35% pashto speaking and pashto is spoken in western sides of Dera Ismael Khan, Kohistan and Haripur districts as well but they are also shown as speaking a language other then pashto. Someone really neads to change that.

Also i have a more accurate map of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa i can email it to anyone who would want it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tigerkhan007 (talkcontribs) 06:14, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Uop logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Uop logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:21, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism of Pashtun Articles

We need to work on getting users like Behnam and Anoshirawan banned or blocked because they are severely vandalising Pashtun culture and Pashtun people related articles. An example is that of Mirwais Khan Hotak and the Hotaki dynasty, where they are trying to show that the Hotaks were not Ghilzai Pashtuns, but were Tatars or Uzbeks.zakka 13:57, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Anwar Kamal Marwat.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Anwar Kamal Marwat.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:11, 23 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 00:11, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Shah Wali

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Shah Wali, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

WP:BLB unsourced for over 6 months, as the pt version. His profile in www.lastfm has 1 scrolling. Fails WP:N.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. August 2009

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Marwat. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Vicenarian (Said · Done) 07:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Marwatt (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I just came to my office and found out about this block. It feel sorry for not being blocked but for this action to be one sided. Every action has a reaction and I didn't say that but Newton uttered these words. No matter how sane I may be but I still couldn't tolerate somebody's ( actually User LineofWisdom) blatant vandalizing, hence the reason for my edits. By the way apropos the article on Anwar Kamal Khan, though I did three edits but he was the one who was blanking my citation edits so he was also reciprocating and therefore, he should have been blocked as well. Justice delayed is justice denied and if I am not unblocked forthwith then I will be constrained to say that the Admins weren't fair to a genuine editor verses a fake and bogus sock using person. The judgment is yours and I rest my case. -- MARWAT  04:56, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I've looked into LineofWisdom's edits and have issued a block; he was absolutely edit warring and was even using sockpuppet accounts to do so. That said, it takes two to tango, and you were also edit warring at Marwat. While I think you made your objection clear, it is not in fact vandalism (a 3RR exception) to add material someone else objects to, and it is inappropriate to revert such changes repeatedly without stopping to engage in discussion. So the 24 hour block on you is actually justified. Mangojuicetalk 05:31, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

3=Well I know that I shouldn't have violated the 3RR so next time I'll be careful. But the real problem is that "How on earth are we going to stop people like LineofWisdom from creating more fake and single purpose accounts and playing havoc with the data over here. Anyway, I feel a little compensated now that the other person has been blocked. Xoxo -- MARWAT  08:19, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You reported the issue to J.delanoy. What you needed to do then was wait and give time for the report to be concluded, that's all. Wikipedia is constantly changing: I think people can get into real trouble when they feel an urgency to correct the article to the version they prefer immediately. What's more important is how issues ultimately get resolved, not how the page looks at this moment. I guess what I'm saying is, you can let them have their moment, it doesn't mean that they have won. Mangojuicetalk 14:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Khayal Muhammad

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Khayal Muhammad. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Khayal Muhammad. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

I am sorry but until you thoroughly discuss any further insertion in the article Marwat on its discussion page, it would be considered as a POV and vanity entry. Apparently all the insertions done in the last couple of weeks were nothing else but to get a chance of putting either this guy’s name or that guy’s name. I started that article and I am sick and tired of removing such entries from this article. Just to remind you that this article on Marwat has been vandalized like this before on many occasions and have remained under protection for quite a long time due to such entries. So if you want to add any matter to this article, convince the regular editors and not the sole purpose editors of Wikipedia about their merits, otherwise it will be a big NO to such vanity entries. Regards.-- MARWAT  04:41, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bitter Pill

The manner you include and delete entries is very much prejudiced. To be frank, if you dont mind let me say that We doubt ur creadibility. your judgement is very much partial. so please detest yourself clinging to only ONE CLAN i.e Begukhel , which can be easily termed as vanity , conceit and narcism. Take the example of terming begukhels as cheifs of marwat tribe which is very much deceitful. there are other clans living in the Marwat area that could rightly claim their CHEIFTAINSHIP. so plz come out of begukhels and start thinking like a true , educated , enlightened and a broad-minded Marwat. Hope u don't mind as the FACTS ARE ALWAYS BITTER. Canvassing

Marwatt, see Wikipedia:Canvassing. Messages such as these clearly fall foul of the guidelines of how and when one can notify other editors of, in this case, an AfD discussion--and I could easily find a half a dozen of such messages you posted on 10 August in relation to Safwat Ghayur. The problem is that your message is obviously biased ("There is a one time vandal who has nominated the article on shaheed Safwat Ghayur for no good reason. Please vote in favour as well as register your concern against such elements.") and the audience is possibly partisan--in the AfD you had claimed that they were all members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Pashtun, but that is not so: User:Pahari Sahib isn't, User:Double edge86 isn't, User:Zakksez isn't. Moreover, a number of editors listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Pashtun/Members and Category:WikiProject Pashtun members did not receive that message from you.

In short, you sent a severely biased message to a select group of editors, and that cannot be. You're already in hot water for outing TurnWorst (that they were rightly blocked for the above threat is irrelevant), and I urge you to abide by our policies and guidelines. This message is intended as a friendly warning, and I won't report these specific actions on your part this time, but I want to remind you that another editor might, now or in the future. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 19:10, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment - You see if I was biased then I would have requested each one of those persons to vote specifically in favor of KEEP, however, if you will go through my message, I only asked them to comment on this specific nomination. In addition, why did I chose to write to these select few, is obvious that they are some of the individuals who work on Pashtun related topics frequently and are most probably well aware of the subject. I didn't want this nomination to get hanged as most of the genuine editors aren't aware of the subject so I was the one who listed this nomination on Pakistan related topics and I wanted the genuine editors to comment either way on this nomination. So with much respect I need to tell you that it had no bias included in it when I asked some of those gentlemen (whom by the way I have never communicated earlier on). -- MARWAT  00:23, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Marwatt, but--"There is a one time vandal who has nominated the article on shaheed Safwat Ghayur for no good reason. Please vote in favour as well as register your concern against such elements." "Vote in favour" means "Keep". Calling the other editor a "one-time vandal" not only denies them good faith, but also taints your message. That's plain for everyone to see. Drmies (talk) 12:58, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Now look what that user made me do. As on the contrary I am quite a rational and composed person. By the way I already accepted my mistake on your talk page. Best. -- MARWAT  00:18, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I didn't reply to your post earlier, been busy and off wiki, good to see that the article has been kept. Pahari Sahib 17:53, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Marwatt,

Sorry for late reply, I dont have enough information about legislative assembly, I got some information from khyber pukhtunkhwa website, read it. In 1901 NWFP was declared as a Chief Commissioner Province and thirty-one years later in 1932 its status was raised to the Governor Province. In 1937, the Government of India Act 1935 was enforced in NWFP and NWFP Legislative Assembly was formed. The first session of parliament was summoned on 12 March 1946 under the Chairmanship of Sardar Bahadur Khan while Nawabzada Allah Nawaz Khan was elected as Speaker and Lala Girdheri Lal as Deputy Speaker on 13 March 1946. The total number of members was 50. This Assembly was dissolved in 1951 and the number of members was increased from 50 to 58. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Members_of_the_N.W.F.P._Legislative_Assembly_1937.jpg check this link for names.Mahabat 06:01, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shah Wali requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mughal Khel of Ghoriwala, Bannu

Dear Sir/Madam,

I respectfully request your assistance in reviewing my draft article, Draft:Mughal Khel. As a sub-tribe of the Yousafzai, the Mughal Khels are unique in that they are the only Yousafzai tribe residing in Southern Pakhtunkhwa, where they speak a soft version of Pashto. They are based in Bannu and their history and cultural practices have been documented in various online sources and books.

It is my hope that by writing this article, I can contribute to the knowledge base about the Yousafzai tribe and highlight their rich tradition of migration and cultural diversity. I would greatly appreciate your guidance and support in ensuring that the information is accurate and suitable for submission on Wikipedia.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
