About the drive

The Reviewing Drive is a backlog reduction drive, which will run from 00:01 UTC on 1 April through to 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2021. The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project; however, only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. This year the drive is focused on the following areas:

More specific notes about what these entail can be found below. Only quality reviews will be accepted; project coordinators will spot-check claimed entries and reserve the right to disqualify reviews that they deem to be substandard. Gaming the system is frowned upon and may result in disqualification from the whole drive.

Scoring

You will receive points for each article/page you work on, based on the schedule listed below.

Serial Aspect/Category Points
1 Checking an article listed at the AutoCheck report against the B-class criteria, following the instructions at the top of the section or manually assessing an article against the B-class criteria. 1 point
2 Reviewing an article listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS against the requested criteria. Reviews against any criteria up to and including B-class can be made per requests there. Assessments for GA and above need to go through formal reviewing processes.[Note 1] 3 points
3 Reviewing a MILHIST project-tagged article listed at WP:GAN against the good article criteria. A complete review must be provided; requests for second opinions will only be accepted if a full review is provided. 10 points
4 Reviewing an article listed at WP:MILHIST/ACR for project-level assessment against the project's A-Class criteria. Points can be claimed for any of the following: content reviews, source reviews, and image reviews. Reviews of multiple types can be claimed for the same article.[Note 2] 20 points
5 Reviewing a MILHIST project-tagged article listed at WP:FAC against the featured article criteria. Points can be claimed for any of the following: content reviews, source reviews, and image reviews. Reviews of multiple types can be claimed for the same article.[Note 3] 20 points

Notes

  1. ^ The formal reviewing processes are WP:GAN, the project A-Class assessment at WP:MILHIST/ACR, and WP:FAC.
  2. ^ For instance, an editor who provides both a source review and a content review for the same article can claim points for both reviews.
  3. ^ For instance, an editor who provides both a source review and a content review for the same article can claim points for both reviews.

As a token of our appreciation for your efforts, the coordinators will be presenting service awards and barnstars based on the number of articles or pages you improve. How to participate

To take part in the drive, please add your name to the list of participants and the points table below. Then, in alphabetical order, please create a new worklist section for yourself on the worklist page, here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/April 2021 Reviewing Drive/Worklists.

Now you can begin working on articles in the categories listed above. For each article:

  1. Review the selected article
  2. List the article under the appropriate category in your worklist section, as well as a link to the review page
  3. For A-Class or Featured article reviews, indicate if the review is a content review, source review, or image review.

Questions about the drive can be asked on the talk page here. In the first instance, please use the {{@MILHIST}} notification to gain a co-ordinator's attention.
