Greetings to all members of the Military History Project! We hope that the first month of 2011 has treated you all well. This month's edition features what happened during the first month of 2011 in the Project. The biggest story of the month was the reaching of our 500 Featured Article (FA) Milestone! Some careful analysis by Shimgray found that a Military History article is five times as likely to be FA than a non-Milhist article; additionally Milhist now accounts for 0.53% of all Featured Content (articles and lists) on English Wikipedia; our sincerest congrats, thanks and accolades to every single editor who made this possible! January 2011 saw the promotion of eleven Featured Articles, one Featured List, one Featured Topic, and twelve A-Class Articles.

This month has also featured ongoing discussions about the possibility of a Backlog Reduction Drive in the near future. All users wishing to contribute their opinions, advice and criticisms to these proposals are encouraged to do so on the Main Talk Page.
