This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Crime. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Crime|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Crime. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

  • Leaning keep on this one, though the article really does need to pull it's socks up. This was not a single incident, but rather a spree of incidents over several years - a lot of socks. Furthermore, although the court case is reported to have been in 1998 there does appear to be WP:SUSTAINED coverage of the UK-based "sockmen", including: coverage from Canada from 1996 (Medicine Hat News), a 2009 article ([1]), a film produced in 2015/16 (Liverpool Echo, IMDb, Mirror), a 2017 book ([2]), a Connecticut radio show in 2020 ([3]), and a retrospective article in 2021 (Daily Record). This page is about a non-notable friend of an anonymous school shooter in Belgrade. It adds no information that isn't present in the main article for the shooting. I can find no more sources that would add anything to this Ionophore (talk) 16:48, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. I also cannot find any additional sources related to this. Even if you assume the sources listed qualify as WP:SIGCOV (I don't think they do), there has been no sustained notability for this individual (WP:NSUSTAINED). There was only one burst of coverage in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. The article has a lot of problems in general, and I don't think it can be salvaged at this time. Comment: "No lasting effects" seems rather early to call three days since the bombing, the day after an overnight operation resulting from it was held. There's arguments that could be made in regards to WP:NOTNEWS and WP:NEVENTS, but WP:LASTING is not the one (yet), since that one specifically states It may take weeks or months to determine whether or not an event has a lasting effect. This does not, however, mean recent events with unproven lasting effect are automatically non-notable, and less-than-a-week-ago is certainly recent. AddWittyNameHere 01:59, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge to Terrorist incidents in Pakistan in 2024. Pakistan has so much terrorism that the odds of an individual incident getting long term coverage are slim unless it is exceptionally high profile and deadly, which this is not. However, it is notable as part of Pakistan's overall problem, so the information should be retained. This is what we did with the 100 past Pakistani terrorism articles that were AfD'd the past few months (though a few stayed their own articles) PARAKANYAA (talk) 07:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as the event has received WP:CONTINUEDCOVERAGE in international media: 9 June 2024, 11 June 2024, 16 June 2024. Maybe rename the article, but such events are almost always notable due to Pakistan Army connection.     • IP- As per this report, Pakistan witnessed as many as 245 incidents of terror attacks and counter-terror operations during the *irst quarter of 2024, resulting in 432 fatalities I'm sure each of them received similar amount of press coverage but do we need a standalone WP article on each one of them? I don't think so. This barely two paragraph long article should better be merged. WP is NOTDIRECTORY of terrorist attacks in Pakistan so we better focus on quality of our articles, not quantity. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 23:16, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This subject appears to fall afoul of WP:CRIM, specifically the criminal...should be the subject of a Wikipedia article only if one of the following applies: 1) The victim of the crime is a renowned national or international figure, including, but not limited to, politicians or celebrities; or 2) The motivation for the crime or the execution of the crime is unusual—or has otherwise been considered noteworthy—such that it is a well-documented historic event. Generally, historic significance is indicated by sustained coverage of the event in reliable secondary sources which persists beyond contemporaneous news coverage and devotes significant attention to the individual's role.

I would contend that neither of these conditions is met. I don't think there's any argument that the motivation or execution of the crime itself was unusual or of historic importance, or that the victim was a renowned individual. While it was stated at RFUD that the subject is a high-profile individual, coverage since their fall from grace (i.e. post-2018) is extremely limited, and that which does exist ([4]) suggests that the subject is intentionally avoiding the limelight and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Following the guidance at Wikipedia:Who is a low-profile individual, I would conclude that Huddleston is a low-profile individual at this time.

Even before the indictment, significant coverage in RS is limited to the context of Hollywood Sci-Fi Museum; if we had an article on that topic (or if the biography of his father Floyd Huddleston, made any mention of Huston and/or we had a source to back up that claim) a redirect outcome would be appropriate, but we don't at this time. signed, Rosguill talk 14:43, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Floyd Huddleston does mention Huston:
"On December 30, 1965, Huddleston married Nancy Adams, a commercial jingle singer, at the First Baptist Church chapel in Memphis, Tennessee. Huddleston died from a heart attack on September 27, 1991, at a hospital located in Panorama City, Los Angeles. Huddleston was survived by his wife Nancy, his son, Huston, and his mother, Hettye T. Keep Please also note that Huston Huddleston has not been avoiding limelight and has been making independent films (hiring underage actresses) which he has posted about on his own social media. I didn't say his notability is due entirely to being Floyd Huddleston's son, only that it is not true that Floyd's biography fails to mention him.
His notability is anchored in his own activities as a writer/director which are ongoing; the museum project which has had numerous news articles and financial campaigns; his conviction which merits documentation as he has continued to work in both listed areas. Keep added a couple articles I don't think this guy deserves an article but he is attempting to open a museum for kids as a convicted pedophile. Propose article be deleted or at least moved to draft. At present this article seems to be little more than a list of news articles with no wider encyclopaedic merit (WP:NOTNEWS). There doesn't appear to be any evidence to link any of these events other than a rather arbitrary time period that feels created by editors, which there amounts to Wikipedia assigning correlation where there may be none (WP:OR).

Given the contentious topic nature of the subject matter feel it's best that the article be removed from at least main space until such a time it's improved or demonstrates merit for inclusion. Rambling Rambler (talk) 14:03, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
