pointless stylistic changes

You changed List of chief ministers of Jharkhand to make the "days served" a separate column. This change does nothing to improve the list. Please don't make such changes; it's a waste of time. Regards, TryKid[dubiousdiscuss] 15:37, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of sourced content

Hello,

When removing sourced information from an article it is important to explain why using the edit summary. "Fixed typo, Fixed grammar" isn't good enough to explain large content removal. The content you also added was unsourced. Verifiability is important in Wikipedia, so ensuring that your edits are supported by reliable sources is important. If you have questions about this, please feel free to ask. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 15:47, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited K. S. Eshwarappa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page President. Tables in constituency articles

Hi. I have noticed that you been simplifying tables in constituency articles of Bihar (1 2. Please follow standard practices and add party color before the name of the party in the tables, like I have done now in Supaul (Lok Sabha constituency) and Kishanganj (Lok Sabha constituency). An article you recently created, List of speakers of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 02:34, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi MN Shenoy! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Second Yogi Adityanath ministry several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Second Yogi Adityanath ministry, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:30, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve K. Narahari

Hello, MN Shenoy,

Thank you for creating K. Narahari.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more content and more citations. Individual sources must be evaluated separately and independently of each other and meet the four criteria below to determine if a source qualifies towards establishing notability.

  1. Contain significant coverage addressing the subject of the article directly and in depth.
  2. Be completely independent of the article subject.
  3. Meet the standard for being a reliable source.
  4. Be a secondary source; primary and tertiary sources do not count towards establishing notability.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Hi @MN Shenoy. Make sure to use party color templates, specifically Template:Full party name with color instead of adding them as background color. Discretionary Sanctions alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Droupadi_Murmu

Please stop removing reliably sourced content. See WP:EW. Venkat TL (talk) 13:45, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

July 2022

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Droupadi Murmu. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Venkat TL (talk) 14:30, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MN Shenoy. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of speakers of the Bihar Legislative Assembly".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. @MPGuy2824 requested Wikipedia:Requests_for_undeletion#Draft:List_of_speakers_of_the_Bihar_Legislative_Assembly. Venkat TL (talk) 09:52, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MN Shenoy @MPGuy2824 I got the draft undeleted, but it is basically empty. Even the first speaker name is wrong. I have created a new column for speaker name in existing table here. I hope that is sufficient for now. Special:Diff/1111750205. Venkat TL (talk) 18:24, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
All that work to get one guy's name (that too incorrect). Oh well, it was a lottery anyway. There could have been a ton of nicely sourced info. Tough luck. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:38, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MPGuy2824 yes. Indeed, I was atleast hoping for sources, but hard luck. @MN Shenoy from where did you source the first speaker? wherever it was, it is not to be trusted as it was wrong. Elections.in is also not to be trusted they are often wrong. In future, please remember to add the source every time you add the information. As for this draft, I dont think a separate article is needed now, So I suggest you can ask it for speedy deletion Author requested (g7). Instead of improving the draft, I suggest it is better that you update the table linked in the last comment. Venkat TL (talk) 12:09, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Venkat TL
It was from the official website of Bihar Legislative Assembly. MN Shenoy (talk) 12:53, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MN Shenoy thanks. This link of Bihar assembly has a history in PDF form. It says first speaker as Ram Dayalu but that year is 1937. In any case, our table makes the year and assembly term clear, so there is no confusion. Pre-independence speaker can be mentioned in the prose, or may be another table would be needed. @MPGuy2824 what is your suggestion? Venkat TL (talk) 14:14, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good work with the List of speakers of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Venkat TL (talk) 16:34, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
bot has tagged it has Copy vio, so it risks deletion. Please recheck and copy edit the texts. Venkat TL (talk) 16:47, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is only one speaker pre-independence. I'd say leave it in the current table. You can look at other states where the assembly existed before 1947, to see if there is precedent. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:03, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fixing the copyvio is important. See [1] for sections that need to be rewritten in your own words.
Also, the article has a single source right now. For the latest few speakers, there would be news articles easily available to use as refs. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 03:08, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I tagged the now redundant draft for speedy deletion. Venkat TL (talk) 11:23, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into List of leaders of the opposition in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Notice

The article Beni Shanker Sharma has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. - GA Melbourne (talk) 00:58, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

'Results by constituency' table

Hi @MN Shenoy. Regarding your edit, please note that consensus was reached to use tabular format for 'candidates' table and 'results by constituency' table, where 'districts' are the first column in table, instead of being in rows. Sorting function (being an important element of the table) doesn't work when districts are added as rows, which is the reason for the shift to the new tabular format. Please change it back to the format where districts are the first column in the table. Thanks. Dhruv edits (talk) 18:44, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring older, less detailed versions of lists

@MN Shenoy: Hi! I have noticed you continuously seek to revert the edits of the largely detailed versions of the list of political office-holders of India. You are fond of the less-detailed and less informative versions despite the fact that they make the pages less informative, dull, etc. If you can dive into the articles on British, Canadian holders, you would notice how important role the colour codes play. Also remember, dull things make articles less informative. Note that my edits are not destructive, but largely constructive. Hence you are requested not to revert the edits since there is no legal binding that the tables must be simple and not more informative and detailed. There are separate pages dedicated for deputy chief ministers and governors of the state. Those wishing to know them can refer the respective pages. The list of Chief ministers should remain short and crisp. Patterns used by United Kingdom and Canada need not be followed by here. And keep in mind that this pattern has been used since years. @MN Shenoy: Look I know you are a conservative since you are unwilling to accept change and betterment. I simply do not understand why you are opposed to changes to the articles when actually they are adding to the information about the particular person in office. Change is a part of nature. --Oritsu.me (talk) 15:33, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
