I built this article from an existing redirect, using one review and some citations from the article it redirected to. I restored this article which was previously redirected in 2013, but it was reverted. I restored it again to add more reviews and other WP:RS but the same user reverted it again. I built an article on this early Disney video game from an existing redirect, but it was reverted. I formatted a source here. To demonstrate. In this case we see Electronic Fun with Computers & Games is a notable magazine with its own article - a reliable source. This was previously uncertain. There is the author, title and page number of the article such that anyone can read it and see it is non-trivial and length. The "cite journal" is also impressive to many readers as it usually indicates a quality source. All this improves the impression the article is based on quality sources, making it less susceptible to negative attention. -- GreenC 23:35, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore the "paid editing" template: The first edit to the article was by Az.jooma with the edit summary "KGS IT staff creating page". KGS is likely "Karachi Grammar School" which the subject attended. So the article could just as easily have been created by staff and students who share an interest in their relatively-illustrious one-time student. It used to be we used a COI tag for cases like this, but the paid editor banner is becoming more frequent because the "$" symbol gets people's attention - too bad as it dilutes the banners real meaning (companies that are paid to edit Wikipedia on a client's behalf). Update by one of the page editors: Have added and double checked at least 10 independent sources to confirm genuinity and notability on the page itself. These include the United Nations itself (World Urban Forum), the official Bloomsbury Festival which is popular local festival, the official University College London (world famous university), multiple independent news platforms: The News International, Geo News, ARY News, DAWN news. Have removed any quotes that were first flagged as possible "COI" or un-neutral tones. They were initially references to podcasts and hence, this may have appeared as linked to "a close connection" or non-neutral, but this has been removed now.   • I did find and replace to turn [[ into a |-[[ and ]] into ]]||| so all of the things from the category are now in a list. The only problem is I can't changed anything into a newline(enter key). If anyone knows how to do that with Wikipedia or other software please let me know. Having to go in manually and add a bunch of enters is rather tedious. List of fatal dog attacks in the United States

The result was no consensus. Many rationales were offered for deletion, both in the nomination and in some of the further participation. These primarily come down to:

Violations of What Wikipedia is not. This article doesn't fit really comfortably in most of the examples of "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information" and "Wikipedia is not a memorial site / news aggregator", but it definitely has significant elements of those things, and participants are fairly split on whether it applies. I don't think this particular line of argument is going to settle itself any time soon, because the policy itself does not present a real bright line on this kind of list article. Good faith editors differ on the interpretation. Violation of Notability (standalone lists). There's a reasonable argument that this is a valid split of other, more general articles, and sources have been presented that discuss this topic as a whole, which is usually the criterion used to determine whether a group of entries warrant a standalone list article - but other participants assert that much of this coverage is rather questionable, and this starts to cross into very emotive territory regarding certain advocacy groups. This notability guideline is one of the more vague ones we have, and it again appears that good faith editors differ over its application to this article. Beyond those two core arguments, other concerns regarding bad sources and potential BLP issues are mostly editorial issues for individual entries, and there's definitely not an agreement here that the sourcing itself is poor enough to warrant deletion of the article as a whole on that basis.

Some "other stuff exists" arguments were debated here, and they have rather more validity than usual in one sense: This is probably the most emotive and divisive of the many "List of fatal <animal> attacks" that we have, and it might yet be that a more sensible way of handling this long-term disagreement is an RfC to specifically try and work out a consistent guideline for how we should handle them en masse. This is an issue that needs to be settled, but this discussion has reached no clearer consensus than the previous one, and that shows no sign of changing here.

Three articles nominated so far. There are dozens of list articles about people dying in various places by various types of animals. Plus many more about people dying from all manner of other things. This particular list (part of a set of three, which are all splits from a too-large main article) is occasionally attacked by advocates who want this information suppressed (not as an improvement of the encyclopedia, but for their advocacy). Meatpuppets are always dragged out for this topic for vote stacking. Please consider participating in the AfD. Vote your conscience after evaluating the article, but please participate. That information can't really be suppressed, right? There are probably statistics available on which type of dogs kill most, these statistics can be easily added to Fatal dog attacks article. The result was delete. After extended time for discussion, I find that there is consensus to delete this list as failing WP:LISTN. In theory, of course, editors with an interest in doing so could create a list of the tallest buildings in every state, county, city, town, village, and neighborhood. While this seems natural for cities known for the height of their buildings like Chicago, and New York, at some point, there must be a cutoff. The consensus here represents a definition that the city for this list is below that cutoff. BD2412

  • Sadly this is a spillover from a discussion at ANI - Levivich pontificated about the merits of the article and JzG agreed with the comments, and then JzG redirected the article, when I reverted, it was immediately nominated for deletion by JzG. The article was started from scratch just a few days ago, WP:IMPERFECT and has nothing to do with the first AfD. There is a Business Insider article which appears in the de Valk article, and a PC Magazine article (which is not yet in the article). I am sure we can find more in Dutch sources. Google Joost de Valk and 388,000 is the number. No primary sources needed, as there are enough which were used to establish work history. WC. Never give up!
