Suspected sockpuppets

All of these accounts have either voted keep at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newgen Software Tech or edited the article itself in this or a previous iteration (Newgen Software) - apart from "WngLdr34", who started the AfD and has an interesting overlap with "JRed176", one of the voters, and "Chauhan Naresh Kumar" who came up in a check related to this situation and is editing in a UPEish pattern.

I suspect a UPE "nom-and-keep" type situation - where a UPE firm nominates an article for deletion and asks for "protection money" to ensure it doesn't get deleted.   • I also noticed this trend. Opened a case, but realized this is already here, so I've undone it. Here was my comment for reference: Created the page Sunny Bhandarkar and edited Elite Pro Basketball League, very similar to Jishan. Much of this is copied over from WP:Sockpuppet investigations/GermanKity, please see that page for attribution. Misterrrrr was listed there as a sock by User:Beccaynr. As discussed there, the evidence seems to suggest Mathieu Vouillamoz as master: the account seems to be primarily for manipulating AFDs. Misterrrrr's first edit (2 days after account creation) was to Draft:Alina Alam, created by blocked sock of Mathieu Vouillamoz, User:Jamalahmadpk, adding a link to another article created by same sock [8]. At the SPI for GermanKity, User:Curb Safe Charmer also noted that Misterrrrr's edit to Draft:Alina Alam was just after it had been moved to mainspace by Fifthapril, a sock of Mathieu Vouillamoz.

After Bhupenddra Singh Raathore was tagged for notability and other issues, Misterrrrr nominated it for AFD, let two other new accounts (User:Shanaya Chaturvedi and Sahilrazvii999 !vote "keep, WP:GNG", then when a "delete" was added actually based on policy (and after I commented there on the suspicious creation and "keep" !votes), Misterrrrr attempted a "speedy keep, nomination withdrawn" [9]. Note also the attempt to leave my comment out of the AFD discussion on closure. That AFD was then rightly sent to deletion review by User:Curb Safe Charmer, the closure attempt was vacated, and the AFD ended with a strong consensus for deletion.

When I made this comment at the SPI for GermanKity, Misterrrrr then replied there that I was in fact the sock, not them. And in an act of nearly Trumpian projection, Misterrrrr then opened an SPI on my mobile address at WP:Sockpuppet_investigations/Shawntheshipper/Archive#28_January_2023 accusing me (without evidence) of paid editing on behalf of the User:Jamalahmadpk sockfarm.

Sahilrazvii999 and Shanaya Chaturvedi, new accounts with precocious editing histories similar to Misterrrrr, were the ones previously mentioned posting the hand-waving "keep GPG"s [10], [11] to Misterrrrr's AFD nomination, which Misterrrrr then tried to speedy-keep as noted above.

Misterrrrr and Sahilrazvii999 posted "keep" to LordVoldemort728's AFD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fahad Ahmad, 15 minutes apart: [12], [13]. Sahilrazvii999 also !voted keep at the Biotique AfD [15], and Misterrrrr !voted keep soon after, with a typical linkdump of poor quality refs: [16].

New account created seemingly just to evade the block to the master and to move the obvious COI article about the Guru Nanak Institute of Technology back to mainspace here. Other than the clear overlap between the two accounts, they also use similarly-worded edit summaries, the most obvious being NCHM official link added vs NAAC accreditation official link added.   • It's disappointing to see Misterrrrr on one of these lists. They haven't been active for very long but I ran into them quite frequently. At first I thought of making an inquiry as I thought they were one of our regularly appearing AFD sockpuppets. But their edits didn't resemble most of those I've come across, they had clue.   • Misterrrrr approved Mohit Dhawan from AfC which I sent to AfD prior to the report above. I had suspicion but was going to wait to see commenters at teh AfD as I had suspicion of a few more socks (all of whom worked on Mohit Dhawan while it was in draft form and are SPAs). PerwezAalam is one and is blocked per above. The other is SayokSarkar1111 who is likely part of this group but was not listed above.     Thanks, received. All of SayokSarkar1111's edits are coming from a wide range that Misterrrrr has used a few times, but it's not their habitual one. This user's very first edit was to recreate Draft:Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, an old favourite of this sock group. They have done this with an extremely high level of competency, almost impossible for a brand new user to be this good at editing.   • It's  Possible - they overlap with some of the past socks on a very wide, busy range, but there's no smoking gun from a technical perspective. What I do see as a smoking gun, however, is recreating the deleted article verbatim - either it's the same spammer, or it's a different spammer working to the same very specific brief, which I would regard as meatpuppetry. I am not connected to Mrjoegoldberg through the mail even. Mrjoe and I’m working on the same cause on “Sunni Wikimedia Community” i started on Meta. Mrjoe is also a Member there. They asked me about joining on My Talkpage that is very clear to you all. I don’t know why I’m here. I’m being blamed by some people, I’m working for my Community only. I’m not with that Darshak Parmar or any one. I was working alone and then got some help from Mrjoe in creation and edition on some articles. If working on same cause is a thing of Sock, then forgive me I’ll write this on Mrjoe’s talk page that do not edit my pages. I’m living in Kolkata, anyone from Kolkata can meet me even that I’m saying truth. If some user copies my userpage it doesnot mean that I’m connected to them. They might liked my userpage, or I don’t know why. I requested you all that please run a check nicely and so that i can be out of this. I uploaded many picture to Wikimedia Commons clicked by me, i hope it will prove that I’m from Kolkata and not a sock of anyone. You should check the IP that where does those IP belongs to. I think there are some things that I should present to you all.
My name is Joe Goldberg.
And I am a 2nd-year Bachelor of Technology student in Jamia Millia Islamia University. I have done diploma in mechanical engineering from this university. Besides, I have done Diploma in Mass Communication from Maulana Azad National Urdu University from a distance.
I joined Wikipedia only a few months ago. And I am learning new things on this. Increasing my knowledge Besides, I am also contributing to Wikipedia. I have created 107 pages so far. Most of them belong to Indian politicians .I have also created articles for many Islamic scholars. Articles have also been created for many members of the Main Constituent Assembly of India. And I focus more on those articles. which infobox is not added. I add infoboxes to those pages. And I keep making various types of contributions to Wikipedia.
But when this investigation was started, I don't know why it was done. I was doing my work with complete impartiality. But some users may not have liked my work. Anyway, I was very worried about this investigation. I felt as if my life was of no use anymore. Then I saw that the user (Schminnte) reviews my articles through NPP; maybe if some help is sought from them, then the work can be done. But I was wrong. And it was my mistake.
I think everything should be done with complete fairness. And let me be given one more chance. I hope. I can work harder for Wikipedia.
One last thing, let me clarify that I have no connection whatsoever with users Mrjamiawala, Syedsalamathrahe, Sahilrazvii999, CloudFarr3r, nor Darshak.parmar.

  • There is overlap in topic areas and the timing is highly suspicious, but I see a lot of behavioral differences between this account and the confirmed socks.
