The Ebell of Los Angeles Women's Organization was founded in 1894. According to the notes from the first meeting, its purpose was "interest women in the study of all branches of literature, art and science and the advancement of women in every branch of culture." The Ebell Wilshire Theater is the perfect place to celebrate Women's History Month and the Ebell Women's Organization is the perfect host.

This event will be an editing workshop as opposed to an edit-a-thon; we'll have tables for four-six learners, each with experienced editors who can work one-on-one with attendees to learn the ropes. We'll also have a short list of articles to create, developed in partnership with the Ebell. (Everyone is welcome to add to the list.) Our host, Ramblingriver, will give anyone interested a tour of the unbelievably gorgeous Wilshire Ebell buildings and the places where films such as Oppenheimer and Forrest Gump were shot.

More details to come. If you have any questions, leave a message on JSFarman's talk page. If you have ideas about articles to create or work on, add them below. Hope you can make it.

Articles to create or improve

Mrs.Charles Hulbert Toll, President of Ebell, 1922
  • Mary Mayer Schroeder (One of the first women publicists; she worked on The Wizard of Oz, whose star, Judy Garland, was discovered at the Ebell.)
