Non-notable.......academy team for a Taiwanese basketball club? No English-language references, none found while searching for WP:BEFORE that aren't either Wiki links or casual references to the team existing. fuzzy510 (talk) 09:19, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

- Keep per
overwhelming(on second thought there isn't a lot but I would still argue there is enough for GNG) amount of reliable Chinese lang sources. See below for specific sources. Justiyaya 12:30, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
China Times (China Times) "Taichung Dreamers Academy founded, Lu Shiow-yen: 'kids chasing the basketball dream'"never mind this one does not seem reliable per Chinese RSPS- Liberty Times source appears to be currently discussed in Chinese RSPS I'm going to assume that it is reliable. Title "Taichung Dreamers Academy Youth won 3 times consecutively, (persons name) won MVP" Justiyaya 12:41, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
- Delete the volume of Chinese language refs counts for little if they don't support notability. This team shows no evidence in the English text of the article of demonstrating notability. The club has had no success at national or international level. It appears to be like many other amateur clubs which all fall way below the bar of notability. - Keep per the significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources.
Analysis of sourcesThe subject has received coverage in multiple national sources such as Central News Agency, China Times, Liberty Times, and SET News. Most of the sources are from June 2020 when the team was established. But the team has since received significant coverage in July 2020 and September 2021.
The July 2020 source from China Times notes from Google Translate, ""Taichung City Dreamers Youth Team" has performed brilliantly since its formation in June this year. It has won the first two rounds of the "3X3.EXE International Basketball League Competition" in the South Division. The third round of the South Division was held at WeSport Stadium in Kaohsiung yesterday. It was held, and the fighting spirit of the whole team was high. In the final 21 points, they won the Star Dynamic Galaxy Brigade Station, and won the third round championship. Player Wu Yanlun also won the MVP."
The September 2021 article from Liberty Times notes, "Taichung Dreamer Youth Team is composed of players from Yishou University. In the first two rounds, they defeated Kaohsiung Fuming International xTGF in the Southern Championship. Today, they advanced to the semi-finals in the cross-regional competition, and once again beat their old enemy Kaohsiung Fuming International xTGF."
I agree with the above "delete" voter that "The club has had no success at national or international level." However, there is no requirement in the notability guidelines for a team to have had success at "national or international level". The team meets Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline through coverage in at least four national Taiwanese sources at the time of its founding in June 2020 followed by significant coverage in July 2020 and September 2021 in two national sources.
According to 謝岱穎 2021, from Google Translate, "The Formosa Taishin Dreamers basketball team has been cultivating in Central Taiwan for nearly four years. In June last year, it established the "Taichung Dreamers Academy" to actively cultivate the children of Central Taiwan." Even if Taichung Dreamers Academy were not notable, deletion would not be the most appropriate action. A merge to Formosa Taishin Dreamers per Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Alternatives to deletion would be the better approach.

- Comment I don't think I would be the person to handle it, because of a stunning lack of ability to parse through anything not in English, but merging to Formosa Taishin Dreamers seems perfectly reasonable to me. -fuzzy510 (talk) 01:32, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- Based on my review of the sources, there is enough coverage to establish independent notability and to support a standalone article. A merge would either result in the loss of sourced material to comply with Wikipedia:Due weight or would result in undue content being added to Formosa Taishin Dreamers. Cunard (talk) 01:39, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Merge to Formosa Taishin Dreamers as per fuzzy510 above. --Whiteguru (talk) 01:05, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

- Keep - I am confident the sourcing by Cunard demonstrates this article meets WP:GNG and hence warrants its own stand alone article. MaxnaCarter (talk) 10:16, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
