- Delete. Qatar has not participated, and may take some time before an entry may be possible. Create article once Qatar has confirmed its participation. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 20:08, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. As a non participating nation there is no need to have an article about the relationship between Quatar and the song festival. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 20:21, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete. These articles are supposed to detail a country's participation, yet Qatar has never entered. We shouldn't have an article that attempts to predict an upcoming, unconfirmed participation. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 20:26, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete', particularly since they are not participating. Even if they were it would still be questionable. Eurovision Song Contest lists all participating countries, that should be enough.. --Susan118 (talk) 20:33, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Under current rules, Qatar isn't even eligible to enter the contest, since they are not located within the European Broadcasting Area. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 07:11, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. This is just a rumour and Qatar's participation was never confirmed. Chrisportelli (talk) 07:55, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete Coincidentally, I'm about to watch the live feed in 12 minutes. If they're not part of it, don't give them a page. CycloneGU (talk) 18:49, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Hasn't participated in the contest, not eligible to do so, no sense in having this page if they can't enter the contest. Raphie (talk) 15:40, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep I have to say Keep as i dont see a blog comment as a truthfull source of information. When a site like esctoday some days earlier provides true facts that Qatar is in discussions with the EBU. I dont take a stand in the time issue. maybe its a good thing to wait until their 2011 debut comes around.--Judo112 (talk) 20:49, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Qatar have shown strong interest for entering the Eurovision Song Contest in the near future, with their hopes set on 2011 by the latest. They sent delegations to the Moscow 2009 contest, and participated in many discussions with the EBU executives (including Svante Stockselius). An application for Active Membership with the EBU has been submitted, and is pending acceptance. Therefore deletion of this article should be put on hold for now, until we know for sure that the EBU have rejected Qatar participation from the Eurovision Song Contest. - The only time we should have this article is when we know that the EBU has accepted Qatar and it has confirmed it's participation in 2011 (which is rather far off). We should not be predicting their entrance based on a few occurences and no official announcement besides some interest. I remember last year people were steadfast that Kosovo would enter in 2009 and it didn't. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 12:53, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Qatar's radio station is an Active Member of the EBU - their Television station on the other hand is NOT. Can you honestly say that the EBU will decline active membership of their TV station, even though their radio station is already an active member? By the sounds of it that is exactly what you are implying, which, as you like to state; would be "predicting" the future. Balance of probability shows that Qatar Radio is active, therefore Qatar TV will get their active membership fast-tracked. Which after reading the articles on the Internet about this, also add enhancement to the fact that Qatar are aiming for 2011 (to cover their backs), however 2010 is their main goal. I would like to suggest that we also use the EBU website as a reliable source of information on Membership Activity, for current and potential Eurovision Participation. Perhaps creating a page entitled "Active EBU Members with Potential Eurovision Participation" (or something along those lines), would put an end to this constant bickering about which countries should and shouldn't have an Eurovision article. - Delete, classic WP:CRYSTAL. Any country might one day join the EBU and conceivably enter the competition, but until they do an article like this one would be nothing but speculation. Lankiveil (speak to me) 06:07, 21 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]
