Question

Hi, I see that you emptied Category:Albania in the Turkvision Song Contest and nominated it for speedy deletion WP:CSD C1. I'm not sure if that is the correct procedure in this case. Shouldn't it be nominated for speedy deletion per WP:C2F? The result will be the same, but the latter specifically says categories shouldn't be emptied before nominating them for deletion. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 16:51, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Nederlandse Leeuw: Hmm, I suppose. I didn't know about that because neither WP:C1 nor the template's documentation link to it any instructions saying I couldn't do that. Grk1011 (talk) 20:22, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I'm not sure you weren't allowed to do it, it just seemed WP:C2F would be the best approach in the case of 1 eponymous category. Anyway, the result will be the same; I would have agreed with deleting it per SMALLCAT. Cheers, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 20:25, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ESC 2023 semi-final televote rankings

The official website is now updated to show all the televote rankings like in 2018 SF1. You can compare it with the table below. ๐’๐ฆ๐ญ๐ก๐ง๐ ๐ง๐ฐ ๐Ÿ’ฌ 22:37, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is largely in the 11-14 rankings. There is nothing to indicate that the order the countries are listed means they ranked 11 through 14. Grk1011 (talk) 22:40, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is the actual ranking of all countries. The list is complete on every page, just not numbered, but still in the correct order. If you compare this to previous years with full tables, you will see that in fact the rankings are all still correct. ๐’๐ฆ๐ญ๐ก๐ง๐ ๐ง๐ฐ ๐Ÿ’ฌ 22:45, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you can prove that with a reference, then it should be fine. The problem lies in if that is just your educated guess. Grk1011 (talk) 22:48, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The rankings don't have to be numbered if they are just in the correct order.[1] ๐’๐ฆ๐ญ๐ก๐ง๐ ๐ง๐ฐ ๐Ÿ’ฌ 22:52, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But the question is, can you prove that they are in the correct order? That is not stated in the reference. From what you're telling me, it sounds like you are assuming that they are in the correct order. Grk1011 (talk) 22:56, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is how the website displays the rankings. Prove:
๐’๐ฆ๐ญ๐ก๐ง๐ ๐ง๐ฐ ๐Ÿ’ฌ 23:09, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't prove it. Where does it label the 11, 12, 13, and 14th? It must label them if you want to include that information. That's how WP:V works. Grk1011 (talk) 01:09, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The tables are literally show the ranking by pretty much readable "How X voted". Only top 10 countries get the points by calculating votes while the others are still voted and still have a rank but without points. A rank doesn't need an abstract labeling number to count from up to down the position.
Also why though in the JESC 2021 pages (like Armenia) the calculated jury rankings are still written? Must they prove that they are actually correct as the website doesn't label that? ๐’๐ฆ๐ญ๐ก๐ง๐ ๐ง๐ฐ ๐Ÿ’ฌ 02:49, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They show the information for finals (the big table at the bottom of the source refs), but for these semi-finals, unfortunately they do not present this information to us. Once again, you'll need to show "Country 11th", etc for each one if you want to have it included. There really is no way around it. This is not me, it's just how Wikipedia works. Grk1011 (talk) 13:39, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You must know that that isn't how Wikipedia worksย :/ But also, that type of promo event doesn't typically rise to the level for inclusion in general.
