- Delete. These articles are supposed to detail a country's participation, yet Palestine has never entered. We shouldn't have an article that attempts to predict an upcoming, unconfirmed entry. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 20:00, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Palestine has never participated, nor made any attempt to participate in the past. We should not have a prediction of upcoming events, and the article should only be created once the country has confirmed a participation. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 20:11, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete', particularly since they are not participating. Even if they were it would still be questionable. Eurovision Song Contest lists all participating countries, that should be enough.. --Susan118 (talk) 20:35, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Eurovision Song Contest for now. Seems the best way. GARDEN 20:49, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd rather delete and recreate if necessary. I'd also support a block on the article's creation once it is deleted. The people who make these pages, for every single country no less, are very resilient. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 20:53, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd be happy with a redirect followed by protection - that would prevent the article being recreated - it'd be impossible to remove the redirect. Cheers, This flag once was redpropagandadeeds 23:21, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep as this whole story is based on a source provided by a blogger. However a truthful site like esctoday provided information in 2007 saying palestine would be entering in 2010. Also another source provides information that Palestine has been granted EBU membership. I rather trust a euroviison-website information with true writers than blog site. All im saying iis that if we delete this and in one weeks time palestine is granted their wished ...well then we have gone trough all this for nothing.--Judo112 (talk) 20:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Palestine have an on-going project for entering the Eurovision Song Contest in the near future, as soon as their application for Active Membership with the EBU has been granted. Therefore deletion of this article should be reconsidered, until we know for sure that the EBU have rejected any Palestinian participation. Furthermore, a Wikipedia article on EBU members shows Palestine as an 'Approved Member - Active Membership Awaiting Issue', this is also confirmed on the official EBU website. - The only time we should have this article is when we know that the EBU has accepted Palestine and it has confirmed it's participation in 2010. We should not be predicting this. I remember last year people were steadfast that Kosovo would enter in 2009 and it didn't. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 12:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Stephen; it was mentioned back in 2007, via ESCToday (a reliable source of information, as you all like to point out), that Palestine WILL participate from 2010, as their active membership within the EBU will have been granted in time for this. That membership has since been approved, and Palestine are to be given their active membership from June 2009 (that information I can confirm, thanks to an email reply from the EBU, which I sent following these discussions on Wikipedia about Palestine's future in the ESC). With this factor in mind, along with Palestine's on-going projects to select a representative for Eurovision; a hold on deletion should be considered till the end of the Summer at least. Otherwise we will have deleted the entire thing, only to have it re-written a few weeks later. Only thinking of saving time for members. I would like to suggest that we also use the EBU website as a reliable source of information on Membership Activity, for current and potential Eurovision Participation. Perhaps creating a page entitled "Active EBU Members with Potential Eurovision Participation" (or something along those lines), would put an end to this constant bickering about which countries should and shouldn't have an Eurovision article. - Delete until participation in at least one contest is confirmed. Until then there is nothing to write about it except loose speculation. Sjakkalle (Check!) 13:45, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, though I would suggest the creation of Future participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. YeshuaDavid (talk) 17:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I like this suggestion YeshuaDavid - it's a good medium between this constant bickering of "They Should Stay - They Should Go" debate. It would be seen as a 'holding area' until WE all know for sure that the EBU have rejected participation. This should however, only include countries which are in the EBU broadcasting area - places like Canada; South Africa; for example; would be exempt from inclusion into this article, if it is to be created. - Delete. Nothing much to the article except speculation. — Σxplicit 04:58, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete because Palestine has never been in the contest and we have no reason to expect to see them in Oslo next year other than reports from a broken link. That said, I do like the idea of a single page for all potential future participants and their level of interest to collect this kind of long-term speculation. - Delete, classic WP:CRYSTAL. Any country might one day join the EBU, but until they do this is nothing but speculation. Lankiveil (speak to me) 06:06, 21 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]
