My WP:BEFORE search found only routine coverage of results. There are quite a few matches in the British Newspaper Archive, but none of the ones I saw provided significant coverage. I also checked the issue of Snooker Scene that reported on Brumby turning professional, and that contains only a passing mention (and the results of his play-off match).
