I noticed you recently put up a proposed article on Bangladeshi textiles. You might be interested in expanding the page on muslin. Are you talking about Textile arts of Bangladesh? Well, it was actually created by someone else, I just tried to reference it a bit. About Muslin, it's really in a bad shape despite being an important article and the article in Bangla wikipedia also doesn't seem to be in a good form. I categorised things which were invented in Bangladesh or invented by Bangladeshis as per other such categories. Appreciate your concern but it looks confusing especially when you uncategorised Jute genome which was both invented in Bangladesh and by a Bangladeshi. Accurate categorisation of content takes precedence over lining up categories in neat serried ranks! Things which are Bangladeshi inventions can, of course, be put in Category:Bangladeshi inventions ; if some other things were not invented in Bangladesh, a better solution may be to put them in different categories, instead of renaming the category. bobrayner (talk) 13:18, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

While the template is very useful, it is interfering with layouts of "all" articles. Can you make this a horizontal template and put it at the bottom of articles? Several articles on ethnoreligious groups redirect to their geographic areas, like Chinese Muslims. I am not against the principle of having this page at all, but what has been created is a stub, including a copy-pasted and poorly researched history section. There was also a bizarre statement claiming that a caste system exists among Bengali Muslims, and that's the sort of stuff we hear from right-wingers and fringe academics in India. Above all, the article is almost entirely sourced from newspaper reports, and not from any mainstream academic references, like the works of Richard Eaton or the Dhaka University Islamic Department.--Bazaan (talk) 03:28, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I saw this change of yours. You added "Bangladesh" as an additional citizenship of Partha Pratim Majumder. Do you have any reference to backup this information ? Apparently from this link, it is evident that Mr Majumder is an citizen of France only ("I am the son of this soil, though I am a citizen of France. Bangladesh circles in my dreams...."). I have restored the results - the IFES is definitely not an unreliable source - it's probably the biggest election organisation in the world. The difference in turnout is likely caused by the fact that half the seats were uncontested. I would hazard a guess that the 22% reflects the entire country, whereas the IFES figure (51%) is probably the turnout in constituencies where seats were contested. Of course, I would prefer to use figures directly from the ECB, but they don't seem to have published them (at least in English). If you can find more detailed results, then I would go with them Number 57 23:08, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

As far as I remember, even the ECB accepted that the turnout was less than 50% (somewhere around 40%), I need to check the sources. However, the figures of the ecb was also not accepted by international observers. I can see that you are very familiar with wikipedia terms and conditions, so I'll need some help. I am sorry to say but you are making a big mistake here! These Daria-i-Noor (Light pink colour) including the Koh-i-noor and the Peacock throne were carried to Iran by Nader Shah in 1739 and it has remained there ever since!

Another diamond (White colour) with same name (also known as Daria-i-Noor) was confiscated from the Sikh Empire by the British East India Company. Later company sold this diamond to Dhaka nawab family and it has remained Dhaka ever since!

Well I just went with the sources [1], [2]. Take a look at the Banglapedia article which says "For a long time Daria-i-Noor was in the possession of Maratha kings before it was purchased by the ancestors of Nawab Sirajul Mulk of Hydarabad for one lac thirty thousand takas. Afterwards, like the Kohinoor, it went to the possession of a Persian emperor." According to both articles, both Daria-i-noor and Kohinoor were in possessions of Persian emperor, Sikh emperor and then acceded to the British. Two diamond with same name created this confusion! One returned to India (White: now preserved in a vault of Sonali Bank) and another still in Iran (Pink: now preserved in Bank of Iran). Both source describe the white one! Only white Daria-i-noor was confiscated by British and now preserved in a vault of Sonali Bank. The pink Daria-i-noor was taken away with entire mughals treasury in 1739 and still in Tehran (never return to india), preserved in a vault of Central Bank of Iran as Iranian Crown Jewels . see [3]—Samudrakula (talk) 21:22, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

There indeed were two diamonds of the same name. Check History of Koh-i-Noor, Darya-i-Noor, and Taimur's Ruby (pages 101-103). The Banglapedia story is re-confirmed by this book. Alright, "History of Koh-i-Noor, Darya-i-Noor, and Taimur's Ruby" shows an explanation that there are two different diamonds with the same name but couldn't read the exact differences between the two. The description, however, seems to be similar for both the diamonds per other sources, including the color which is pale pink. Now, should we have two different articles or both should be described under one namespace? I believe one consolidated article should be good for now, with ample opportunities for article expansion, until it has gone to the point of a content fork. There is not enough evidence or commentary to validate any of the hypotheses: the diamond is in Sonali Bank, it is in Iran, and there are two diamonds, one in Sonali Bank and the other in Iran. The Daria-e-noor is world famous for being part of the Iranian Crown Jewels. Apart from virtually all independent sources in the world, scientists, and the Iranian government backing this up, the only sources backing up a Bangladeshi story are a Bangladeshi one (how ironic) and a book written by a South Asian.

People here can't just change something that is universally accepted and proven just because some popularity-mongers (or wishful thinkers) claim something?

Besides, apart from being totally illogical to revert a source because of a few biased sources, people didn't even being it to the talk page.

If people keep on reverting it, we will have to report them for vandalism and spreading bogus PoV/non-independantly supported claims. I hope you will stop with these rv wars too.

That whole story of a similar diamond in Bangladesh is based on one source, a book called; The Darya-E-Noor Is in the Sonali Bank Vault by S. Faisal Jalal. People need to stop with spreading such misinformation based on 1-2 biased sources, wich is not even confirmed by ONE other independant source.

Hello. I think I misphrased my question. That Shekhar Bhimanadham (on the Daria-i-Noor page), is he the person who cut the diamond in the early 1800's, or is he the person who further cut the 2nd version of the Daria-i-Noor? (the one stored in Dhaka) Any idea about this?

I was investigating some 'odd' recent edits to North Bengal and looking back through the page history it seems that the page has gone though a lot of changes over time.

I came across your edit here from February 2013 removing 5,693 bytes leaving 3,557. I was wondering if this may have been a mistake? Your summary said "Reverting vandalism or test edit", but appears to have removed text, some sources and an infobox. Hi! Actually the term "North Bengal" collectively refers to the northern Bangladesh and northern West Bengal. The problem with the edit was that it simply removed the information regarding the Bangladeshi part of North Bengal and added massive unsourced contents. Even many information in the infobox were actually about West Bengal but falsely put as North Bengal. --Zayeem ^(talk) 17:38, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
