Hampshire Scouting

Welcome to wikipedia and to Scouting articles. I am afraid that the two articles that you have started are unlikely to remain. We used to have articles on Scout Counties and one of them is Hampshire Scout County (The Scout Association), which is now a redirect to Scouting in South East England which covers the administrative region and is not restricted just to the Scout Association presence. Scout Association Counties are just not notable enough. Portsmouth Scouts is even less notable. We do not have any other articles on Scout Association Counties/Areas or Districts. I suggest that you make sure that the material is present in Scouting in South East England and then make your articles into redirects. Sorry, but it is always a good idea to make small edits to existing articles before you start an article and then you have a chance to learn our guidelines. Take a look at the Scouting Project pages.

Thanks for contributing the new article Hampshire Scout County. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. A tag has been placed on Portsmouth Scouts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.
