Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Chicken, you may be blocked from editing. Jackmcbarn (talk) 14:45, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

November 2013

A reminder that using an IP address to edit when one's account is blocked is block evasion, and can result in the clock being reset on the block, or in the block being extended. Do not use this IP to edit if your account is blocked. Beyond My Ken (talk) 13:52, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Note that this IP is shared. Also note that it is used by 50+ people, so I don't know which person using the IP will edit Wikipedia next. Some of the edits on this IP were not mine as this is a school owned IP. Whatever it is, it definitely ain't gonna be me, just to be on the safe side. Note that any future edits on this IP will not be mine. Thank you for your attention. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 14:05, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
IP addresses may be blocked for the conduct of an editor using the IP, even if that affects subsequent innocent users of the IP. The block could be for vandalism, 3RR violation, block evasion, or any other blockable offence. With an exception for a very few highly-sensitive IP addresses, there is no exemption for the IP being shared (although that could shorten the duration of the block). —C.Fred (talk) 16:47, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. I (the person typing this now) have edited on this IP only a few times since my autoblock, all on this page regarding Beyond My Ken. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 16:59, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I do not have strong evidence that someone using this IP was evading a block, however, this IP has been used in the past (as recently as five days ago) by an editor who is now temporarily blocked, and that editor has been known to use alternate accounts to evade the block very recently, and a recent edit made by this IP seems similar to edits made by that editor in the past, so, the warning I posted was simply intended to remind that editor that if they were using this IP they cannot edit Wikipedia using any account or IP for the duration of the block. If my suspicions were unfounded, then the people who use this IP have no reason to be concerned, however, I will be watching the contributions that come from this address for any additional evidence of possible block evasion. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:07, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So, here's a coincidence -- or, more precisely, another piece of possible evidence. The block-evading editor I referred to above has two alternate accounts, and when their master account was blocked, they took elaborate steps to hide the connection between those alternate accounts and the master account including having their user page -- which contained a statement connecting the accounts to each other -- deleted. I just now found out that the user page for this account was deleted at the request of this IP. This is an incredible coincidence, one which I have brought to the attention of the admin who deleted the user page, with the request to undelete it, and which I am about to bring to the attention of the admin who's been dealing with the block-evading editor I've been referring to. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:26, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's worth noting that the warning about not using an IP to edit while you are blocked goes for User:24.213.167.105 as well. Beyond My Ken (talk) 22:39, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Beyond My Ken, I see that we have met again. :-) However, there are some things that I need to say:
  1. Regarding the page deletion notice above, my understanding of Wikipedia is that user pages for IPs aren't allowed. Is that correct?
  2. I looked at your talk page, and noticed that the user "Epicgenius" was causing all these problems. I know the person behind that account very well, and we had a long talk about what to do and what not to do on Wikipedia. He told me that he was angry over certain recent events in his life, and he agreed not to cause problems like this on Wikipedia anymore. He told me to tell you that he sends his apologies to you, and that "now, you are allowed to post on [his] talk page".
  3. The "block" that I alluded to was actually an "autoblock". When I went to fix a mistake on the article Phnom Penh, the site gave me an error message, saying that my IP was blocked because "it has recently been used by Epicgenius". The page was deleted hours after the autoblock was placed on this IP. While it may or may not have been the IP who put up the deletion notice, it could have been one of the other users of this IP who put up this notice.
  4. Not that this is any of my business, but you posted on User talk:Anthony Bradbury regarding me. Anthony says that the page was blank, except for a deletion tag, even before he deleted it.
Thank you for understanding. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 13:53, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I believe you have an advantage on me. You say "I see that we have met again", but I'm not sure of who you are. From your statement you appear not to be Epicgenius, since you refer to him in the third person, but I'm not aware that I know anyone else who edits from this IP address. Would you care to send me an e-mail to let me know who it is I'm talking to? Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:08, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, what is your e-mail address? I apologize for the long delay in replying to you. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 13:40, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't do this!,,

If you didn't make the edits that you're seeing, it's because you share an IP with someone else. Create an account and that won't be a problem anymore. Jackmcbarn (talk) 19:48, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot create an account, this IP is blocked from account creation. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 20:14, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Then follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Request an account and one will be created for you. Also, don't make edits like [1]. Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:09, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
okay, I will do that. By the way, I am sure that Beyond My Ken has a problem with my edits, because he reverted my edits that weren't vandalism, as well as accuse me of having a school vs school rivalry with the Gordon School, even though this IP is not affiliated with either school.67.220.154.178 (talk) 21:15, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You removed legitimate material from the Gordon School article, and this is a school IP, so whether or not I properly identified the school (and I believe I did) is irrelevant. You cannot mix vandalism with non-vandalism and hope the vandalism will be overlooked. The cry of "I didn't due that" has been heard frequently from this IP, and the solution to that has been given multiple times, but still the vandalism continues. BMK (talk) 22:04, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If you even bothered to read the top of the talk page, you would see that this IP is shared. So for you to say a comment like that is untrue and is libel.67.220.154.178 (talk) 13:54, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
While it may not be the same person who made the edits in question, what is abundantly clear is that the edits came from this IP address. That's why this IP address is blocked. If you're truly not the person who made the edits in question, you've been given information on how to get relief from the block on this IP and register for an account. That's the easiest way for you to get a "clean" edit history and not have to worry about what other edits from this IP are associated with you. —C.Fred (talk) 18:36, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That said, edits like this one, where you remove a user's name from your talk page everywhere it occurs, certainly don't appear to be in good faith. It raises the question of whether you have an issue with this user. Whether you do or not, editing the comments is not allowed under WP:REFACTOR. —C.Fred (talk) 18:39, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

Wikipedia editors with accounts should not edit using an IP address - doing so is a violation of WP:SOCK, as it avoids scrutiny of the editor's editing. BMK (talk) 14:37, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will gladly register an account. However, please show me the policy that specifically says that I must edit as a registered user. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 15:33, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No policy requires you to register an account -- although if you plan on editing frequently I think you would find it beneficial to have one -- however, if you already have an account, then editing with an IP is a violation of the socking policy, and is not allowed. Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Persian cat & this edit to Flying Dutchman (dinghy) . If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. -talk→ WPPilot  23:35, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Make an account

Considering that you are editing from a IP number, yet your clearly aware of the syntax here, I am willing to bet that you have a ID here, but your doing these edits to hide your ID. IP contributors, from IP numbers with a long history of blocks and disruptive edits that I had mentioned before are quickly blocked again if you are going to stalk reliable and respected editors. Do not simply remove my photos, as you have been doing exclusively for the last week, and log onto the site using your real account. This is your LAST warning, if you as a IP editor have a comment use talk pages. You have no history here of contributions and a long stream of disruptive contributions that would quickly gain the ability here to have your IP number blocked again. Get any account, or use the account that I suspect you have. Your IP is from NY, and has been blocked many times. I am not going to warn you again. talk→ WPPilot  05:12, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This IP is shared. It's possible other people were using this IP to vandalize before. That said, I've opened a discussion at Talk:Persian cat, and I suggest that you reply. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 13:52, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Any editor can clearly see that you are stalking my contributions. Your edits have only been in regard to my contributions and you have tried, on many pages to remove top quality photos, I have contributed. Stop playing games. Don't hide behind the Shared IP, you know what you are doing, and I will let admins know what your upto. Your IP has been blocked a lot and it will not be an issue to have it blocked again. Move on, find something of value to contribute to and stop stalking my contributions. If a normal (named) editor has a issue with my photos, it will be dealt with but your remove of photos from a number of Wikis, that I TOOK, is a clear sign that this is not a coincidence. talk→ WPPilot  15:11, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The issue here is that I and lots of other editors have problems with you adding your own pictures, even as several other, registered editors have warned you about it, and you've recently been blocked because of your uncivil conduct in regards to these pictures. Stop going off a tangent and discussing how I've been blocked. There is very little reason to make an account, nor do you have any evidence that I even have one. IPs are editors too. 67.220.154.178 (talk) 16:19, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So this is the reason your stalking my edits, well thank you for the admission. Your edits as well as inline comments make it clear as to your involvement. Your not considered a vetted contributor, if you insist on hiding behind your IP. Get a real editor to support your perspective, but if you continue to stalk my edits you will be blocked. No one has any problems other then you, grow up and move on, as if you continue your disruptive edits, YOU WILL BE BLOCKED. Your inline comments are similar to another editor that I am aware of, and, if you like I will request the admins to do a check to see if you are using this IP account to attempt tp remove photos. Others are restoring them, and your being disruptive. I am not going to warn you again, End of story. talk→ WPPilot  16:27, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes IP editors, like this IP that have a continued stream of abusive edits like yours that have been, over the last 2 weeks, Persian Cat, Flying Dutchman, Tysnes, ONLY going after my contributions are blocked. In fact according to your history this IP does far more harm then good. and I am willing to bet you that a admin find the same mac id on these edits as another named user. Keep pushing this and it will go to the ANI boards and we will find out real quick. talk→ WPPilot  16:46, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies When a IP states, in a edit summary "I will stop stalking you" then goes and rewrites a caption you just did, I was not about to let it go unnoticed, and I felt that my composure was just and within scope.
