1939 NLL season changes:
- Washington Black Senators fold.
- New York Cubans rejoin as a traveling team.
- Balitmore Elite Giants leave Bugle Field and play at Oriole Park.
- New York Black Yankees leave Hinchliffe Stadium and become a traveling team.
- Pittsburgh Crawfords relocates to Toledo, Ohio as the Toledo Crawfords at Swayne Field. Mid-season, the team withdraws from the NNL and joins the Negro American League.
- Homestead Grays begin playing a significant minority of home games at Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C..
