Deletion of unsourced material
I have deleted an unsourced statement that a natural stream might be diverted into a small house as an alternative to a natural spring. Springs have two features notably lacking from surface streams which would limit the utility of the alleged procedure. First, springs are protected from animal access and debris by their underground channel which has been long protected by overlying rock and soil. Secondly, while surface water temperatures vary with seasonal air temperatures, groundwater maintains a uniform average temperature year round. In areas of continental-controlled climate with warm summers and freezing winter temperatures, springs will seem cool in the summer and will not freeze in the winter.
