This term, space combat simulator, is commonly used to describe Space Combat FLIGHT Simulators. There's another group, sometimes called Space Combat COMMAND Simulators, SCCS. They are real time tactics games, distinct from RTS. Games involve no unit construction or resource gathering during skirmishes, but are instead meant to emulate a ship- or battlegroup commander's role as it is portrayed in sci-fi movies. Examples include Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, and Warhammer Battlefleet Gothic Armada 1 & 2.

Should the SCCS get a separate category page?

It does seem inaccurate to lump command simulators together with flight simulators. Student342 (talk) 16:33, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
