Added intro

I've added an introduction to this RfC to give some background for users that aren't too familiar with the process. Everybody is encouraged to modify it as I'm not very good at writing this stuff. Thanks. - Hydroxonium (TCV) 07:16, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is this RfC needed right now?

I believe this issue was the subject of an extensive community discussion relatively recently. Is there any reason to believe that that discussion hasn't already yielded as much of a consensus as is going to be found on this issue for awhile? Newyorkbrad (talk) 01:58, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With the current rate of RfBs, it's probably not worth spending a great deal of time over this issue, but I am a little interested in taking the pulse of the community now that bureaucrats have been granted the technical ability to remove the administrator permission. Whether that plays out in the "consensus threshold" or the actual oppose column (or both) remains to be seen. –xenotalk 02:27, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
@NYB, this current RfC is a followup from the previous RfC, but was put on hold while the two recent crat RfCs (this and that) were running . The closing bureaucrat mentioned in his closing that a new discussion should occur to resolve the threshold issue. So this is sort of the conclusion of that previous RfC in order to get that issue resolved. Best regards. - Hydroxonium (TCV) 02:53, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, fair enough. Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 02:55, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
