All three are pushing an article about mr. Vassal Benford. Unfortunately, that page is a copy of his own website ([1]) and grossly selfpromotion. It was removed as CSD G12, but keeps reappearing. I have the strong idea that not only the IP is mr. Benford (who signs with that name [2]) but also the two registered users (who don't take part in any discussion). By using multiple accounts, he appears to be more interesting then he is in real life. Interesting enough the IP spells the name "Jeeptraveler" correct, while I spelled the part "traveler" with a double l (Jeeptraveller) due to the normel word being traveller. Creator of the article Vassal Gradington Benford III and redirect Vassal benford. Interesting is to see that the first version of this article, from someone who claims to be a newbie, contains maintenance tags from August 2012.

The older version of this article Vassal Benford was as recently as 1-9-2012 removed (G12) and salted by Dennis Brown (see archive). The new article, written by a SPA, is not plain copyvio, but comes close

The mentioned IP could be the same user, but then logged out. His changes in related articles ([3], [4], [5]) and on "Vassal Gradington Benford III" (3x), makes me highly suspicious. Especially because the protection request was followed by a block. The Banner talk 23:53, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed the email in regards to the Sockpuppet issue with Jeeptraveler, as mentioned I am new to Wikipedia and if you check any of my IP's I am a newbie that's why I admitted to it. However, I am assuming that you are implying that I am the same Jeeptraveler user. I mentioned that I am in the entertainment business and I do not want to say it is not possible that the Jeeptraveler user used my laptop as we loan them out to interns etc. - however the only problem is I do not know who that person is and in regards to the Jeeptraveler mention - whoever that is - it is not me. You can polygraph me if you want to - seriously.

Do I know of Vassal, yes. But he is not the only producer I am aware of or may be in the vacinity of. If that is the case I may not want to add to Polow Da Don, Timbaland, Puffy, Swizz Beats, Dr. Dre or Will Smith as I have to deal with their camps as well. I thought I was doing a favor for Vassal only because again I deal with his peers. Most major producers share the same facility by the way. On any given day producers for Will.I.Am may be in a space that Damon Elliott or Puffy shared and so forth. I know for a fact that Vassal also shares facilities with Will Smith and others at that level as I am also in those studios.

I mentioned that I am involved with Vassal's peers and I noticed his page was indeed down from them. The people who informed me could easily be Jeeptraveler but I took it upon myself to create this page which has taken alot of work and time. Just look at my involvement. To the newbie mention, I didn't even create my login but once I was shown the simplicity of working on Wiki I just ran with it.

So, whatever you need to audit or check please do but if you are thinking that I am Jeeptraveler you couldn't be further from the truth. I was told Vassal's page went down due to someone logging into the page and updated it with obseneties. I was then told the page was taken down for copyright issues. Either way they made it seem out of the page creators control.

Lastly, I can add that the Jeeptreveler person may or may not have had access to my laptop - but sadly I cannot CONFIRM that person or I would and I would have not wasted my time trying to simply help someone who I thought warranted a page.

All I can say I will do in the future is keep a closer eye on my machines as I have a couple PC's amd Mac's for post production but BME2012 should only be associated with me and yes the only page I am dealing with is Vassal's for now but I am about to put up anther page on a 77 year old film producer who I feel needs a page as well named Cassius Vernon Weathersby simply becuause I like his film "You Got Served" - just as a heads up.

And sadly - I admit I am still a newbie but I have grown a bit since my last newbie post.

Just read over the comments again. Even though you are suspicious - I am again NOT Jeeptraveler. I do have a couple notebooks that I use at diff locations depending on MAC or PC. Sadly, I created a page for Vassal because I like his music and know his circle of friends as they are close to other people I work with and I simply felt he deserved a page. I don't think you understand my intentions with his page and therefore I will continue to communicate with you or anyone else to come to a resolution. It really isn't that big a deal for me to see a Vassal page up - other than I thought he deserved it. Feel free to let me know if any further info is required of me and I will do my best to explain till resolved.

One last item, sometimes I do login to BME2012 when editing on Vassal's page and sometime I do not. In no way am I trying to make it seem as if additional people are contributing. When I look at the page 99% of the page looks like my edits. If additional IP's are the question the only thing I can think of is that I do not always login. Just a thought - don't know if it matters but thought to mention.

When this investigation turns out negative, I will apologize. But for now, sorry. The Banner talk 11:38, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Check declined by a checkuser. In order to facilitate and expedite your request, please provide diffs to support your case. Please give two or more diffs meeting the following format:

  1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.
  3. In situations where it is not immediately obvious from the diffs what the characteristic behaviour is, a short explanation must be provided. Around one sentence is enough for this. --(ʞɿɐʇ) ɐuɐʞsǝp 14:26, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note: Tyson has two edits, [6] and [7] since April of 2010. Previous sock User:Chrisnewnation was blocked as sock for recreating the same article under a different name, Vassal Benford [8] (I had salted for continuous copy vio). Same with deleted contribs of current master [9].

"Born 1967" and "grammy award winning" was added in socks edits, also in Jeep's deleted contrib [10], plus other similarities in content that are difficult to ignore. This is also similar to User:BME2012 who was deemed "not likely" in the last SPI report.

This would change the master if linked as Tyson Turner is older than Jeeptraveler. Reinstated CU request now that diffs are provided. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 16:33, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

    • Changed master to oldest account, Tyson Turner. Based on discussions with Checkuser, the checkuser process can't be fully trusted and we must rely on behavioral evidence. Comparing here convinces me that the three editors are one in the same. As such, I've indef blocked the socks, and being the 2nd block for the master (first under the other user name) I've blocked him for 5 weeks. Closing.
