Suspected sockpuppets


A number of accounts have been adding unreferenced controversial information about academics associated with the University of Jaffna. I believe that these accounts are related:

Suspected sockpuppets

These three accounts have only ever edited Eastern University, Sri Lanka. This article's quality has deteriorated over the years with new editors adding rafts of unsourced, un-encyclopedic content. The article is on my watchlist and I occasionaly remove unsourced additions though the article needs a major re-work to bring it up to standard.

On 23 January Shobyk44nnu added some unreferenced content about the appointment of F. C. Ragel as vice-chancellor. The following day Jjwitz94 updated the infobox with the new VC's name, unsourced of course.

On 27 January I reverted these, together with other recent unsourced additions. The following day I was reverted by Shobyk44nnu. Four minutes (1 v 2) after this revert Jjwitz94 left a a stroppy message on my talk page.

On 3 February I reverted Shobyk44nnu's revert. On 5 February Che p 007, with their first edit on Wikipedia, reverted my edit and re-inserted the unsourced additions about the new VC. Obi2canibe (talk) 13:43, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • All are  Technically indistinguishable on a proxy that is no where near Sri Lanka. Does not appear to be meatpuppets and they are sharing the exact same single static IP as T.shan56. Would a clerk please move this case to that master and tag if they agree?

Suspected sockpuppets


Some of the first edits by Fusion4567 were vandalism to P. Balasundarampillai, which were closely followed by further vandalism to the same article by Guppies1234. When the vandalism was reverted by Obi2canibe the offending changes were re-added by Fusion4567 (including the same vandalism previously added by Guppies1234). When I reverted the vandalism they were re-added by Trenton00987. When those edits were reverted by Almy they were subsequently re-added by Trenton00987 and Guppies1234. Despite each of the users being individually being warned about vandalism they have continued to persist with adding unsourced contentious (possibly libelous) statements to the article. Based on their edit history you would either have to assume they are a single editor or three editors acting in very close collusion with each other. Suspected sockpuppets


This user made denigrating edits at Vasanthy Arasaratnam like Vasanthy546576, an already confirmed sock of T.shan56, did. Username Obi1canibe also looks very similar to Obi4canbe, another confirmed sock of the supposed sockmaster. DoebLoggs (talk) 12:13, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Both of these accounts have made the same sort of negative POV comments at Vasanthy Arasaratnam and N. Shanmugalingam as previous socks not long after the protection of these pages expired. Sir Sputnik (talk) 12:48, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
