Suspected sockpuppets

The suspected sockmaster, during the six months before they were blocked indefinitely by Widr, would make constructive edits to Asia's Next Top Model and related articles by updating and correcting info (e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]), but would also vandalise by adding incorrect information (e.g. [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16]). After this long-term vandalism eventually got them blocked on 27 August, the suspected sockpuppet joined on 9 September, starting with constructive and good-faith edits (e.g. [17]), but today they vandalised Template:Asia's Next Top Model and Asia's Next Top Model (cycle 3) in a similar way to the suspected sockmaster (saying KB Barlow won cycle 3 instead of Ayu Gani, adding Cambodia and Laos to the represented countries etc. [18], [19]). The majority of these socks' contribs are WP:NOTBROKEN vios, like the sockmaster and previous socks. Paolarosales added a hoax to Asia's Next Top Model [23] and Template:Asia's Next Top Model [24]. Another thing I noticed is that both users each moved a page (here and here) with the rationale "This is my screen name", similar to how the sockmaster moved Gwendoline Ruais with the rationale, "This is my nickname", as if they were attempting to impersonate those people.   3. Edit by Marizalmarez & edit by Lutherlopez on Asia's Next Top Model (season 6) (per WP:AGAIN)
  4. Edit by Arthuratienza & edit by Lutherlopez on Template:Miss Universe titleholders (per WP:AGAIN)
  5. Marizalmarez & Arthuratienza have been blocked previously for disruptive editing as per their talk pages and are possibly evading their blocks by using the account Lutherlopez. Lutherlopez's editing history shows a gap between October and December 2021, during which time Arthuratienza did a number of edits. Once it got blocked on 16th December, Lutherlopez resumed editing on the same (and similar kind of) articles starting 18th December.
  6. All 3 accounts have been disruptively editing, and many of their edits have been reverted by other good faith users (usually by manual editing) or by experienced anti-vandalism editors. They edit in the same space, i.e., beauty pageant related articles, delete sourced content and add identical wrong information.   4. Arthuratienza and their sockpuppets were banned for sockpuppetry on 21 December, and Biancasuarez started editing on 22 December after a long period of inactivity starting 31 March.
  5. Biancasuarez's editing style and article types are exactly the same as Arthuratienza. All of Biancasuarez's edits since 22 December show similar pattern.   3. Biancasuarez is blocked on 27 December for Unconstructive editing like the sockpuppets in Arthuratienza's previous case. Just after Biancasuarez's block, Alessandrobarola starts making similar unconstructive edits on same articles starting on 28 December after a long period of inactivity since 17 April. Looks like a case of WP:DUCK.

  • I've already blocked Atienzaarthur, Belinoirish, and Lopezkarylle, but I'll leave the tagging to somebody more familiar with the behavior. They're close enough that I suspect many CUs would call them confirmed, but I'm going to be conservative and call them  Highly likely. I would have no objection to a clerk tagging them as confirmed if they felt the behavioral evidence was strong.

  3. These diff similarities are an extension to the 11 January 2022 SPI report. (WP:DUCK especially so when the contents are complete hoax)

    2. Edit by Manalojude, edit by Torinogwen on Miss Universe Australia (compare with 11 Jan archive)
    3. Edit by Torinogwen, edit by Alessandrobarola (CU confirmed) on List of Miss Universe titleholders
    4. Edit by Torinogwen, (at least 7 exactly same edits in page history with 3 being CU confirmed socks of Biancasuarez) at Template:Miss Philippines winners in the Big Four pageants
      This SPI investigation probably needs to be merged with Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gabrielfruelda (username patterns & edit history of this template & other diffs provided at Gabrielfruelda archive too closely resembles this case (WP:DUCK)) ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 18:42, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Username follows the same pattern as all others in this group. First name + last name, no space, lower case last name. Thailand at the Big Four international beauty pageants created and substantially similar to that of recent sock User:Rosalesmarco. This EIA shows substantial overlap between these two accounts, especially in obscure places like Template:Miss Argentina winners in the Big Four pageants and Template:Miss Puerto Rico winners in the Big Four pageants, the latter of which contains some dormant accounts that may well be part of the same sock group.

I might as well copy and paste my previous note from this case. Recreating Thailand at the Big Four international beauty pageants in the same way as the previous 4 socks that created this article. The username follows the exact same pattern of 'first name + Spanish language surname' with no spacing or capitalisation. This naming pattern is shared by all accounts in Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Rachellegeneroso
