Suspected sockpuppets


Duck quacking. Appeared shortly after the previous SPI. Editor has a similar range of editing. They mix (usually correct) grammar and minor prose fixes and (not always correct) formatting fixes on a variety of pages, generally editing from a mobile. I've come across them on football-related pages, but they also regularly edit pages related to Islamism, ethnic and religious issues, religious buildings, and murders: this editor has just created Murder of Georgia Williams. This editor has also edited Pavlo Lapshyn, a page created by a previous confirmed sock and edited by another. Requesting checkuser to check for sleepers. As stated at previous SPI, they mix (usually correct) grammar and minor prose fixes and (not always correct) formatting fixes on a variety of pages, generally editing from a mobile. I've come across them on football-related pages, but they also regularly edit pages related to Islamism, ethnic and religious issues, religious buildings, and murders. This one has also edited Tell Mama UK, a page created by the sockmaster and also edited by three other socks. Perhaps I shouldn't, but I did find it mildly amusing that they called this one the French word for sock, give or take an extra couple of letters. Struway2 (talk) 17:59, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Get real. I'm here since 2011, account registered in 2008. How can I be a sock puppet of someone who registered in 2012? I simply came across this user's edits (after I noticed this thread here [4]) and thought he had been wrongly blocked and re-instated some of his edits. Just take a look at our editing histories: these are very different, Indiasummer only edited topics like Islam and football, I'm active across a number of topics like Eastern european political parties, Russian-Ukrainian relations and only then Islam. information Administrator note I'm not seeing the connection. It takes more than a (possibly) similar point of view, and the reinstatement of a few edits to conclude that sockpuppetry is taking place. In addition, Indiasummer95 and their socks edited frequently (almost exclusively) using "mobile edits", while I see that Lokalkosmopolit has never done so. I have to conclude that there is not enough evidence to call this editor a sockpuppet, and a lot of evidence to call this not a sockpuppet. -- Atama頭 21:50, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
