Suspected sockpuppets

A large number of brand new editors all swarming new article Ultrasound assisted extraction created by one of the swarm. Two are already blocked. This seems highly suspicious to me. - UtherSRG (talk) 20:11, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments

  • These accounts showed up on the article after a number of maintenance tags were added. Their edits are all tagged as coming from the Newcomer tasks program, which encourages new editors to improve articles that have been tagged for maintenance (note: in my experience, the edits coming from this program are rarely improvements). It's fairly obvious from looking at their editing histories that these accounts belong to different people. For example, GroupeGibault seems to be a standard COI account, DinodudesXD is vandalizing video game articles, EdwardEdword is writing a draft about some defunct band and Hydromantia seems to be making productive edits. Since I'm quite sure that these are different individuals who were drawn to the article by the newcomer tasks program, I am closing this case without further action.
