Suspected sockpuppets

Per Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#The World Tomorrow Sock I am creating an SPI so that we have a place to gather together the various IPs and accounts used by this particular sockmaster. Guy Macon (talk) 17:12, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Note to SPI Administrator: All of the above except for 74.218.182.50 are either blocked or very stale, so no action is needed on those. There are other, more recent ones but I don't think anyone bothered tracking them until now. As I said above, the purpose here is to have a central place to deal with the new socks as they appear. I would not have noticed the pattern except that the 74.218.182.50 sock hit Wikipedia:Help desk, where I am watching because we are in the middle of ongoing disruption from another set of sockpuppets. --Guy Macon (talk) 22:53, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Same conspiracy theories, WP:OWN, WP:NPA, and WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT behavior as prior sock/meatpuppet accounts. See behavioral evidence at:

- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:44, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Additional evidence:
Worldtomorrowgta was blocked for having a promotional username, then later tagged as a suspected sock due to behavioral evidence.
  • 19:20, 28 November 2016 - Shortly after block of Worldtomorrowgta, IP 198.223.226.236 posts "You just blocked me with no expiration on the block"
  • 20:48, 28 November 2016 - shortly after the IP was blocked, user Dollyparton7 posts "Now someone here blocked my wireless IP with a lie saying it was another user account"
  • 21:56, 1 December 2016 - shortly after this SPI was started, user Dollyparton7 changes direction and posts "IT is NOT MY IP!"

I'm hesitant to share links to contact info, even if self-provided by the users; but the phone number self-provided by Dollyparton7 is nearly the same (different area code? but remaining seven digits identical) as number provided by Superchargedone. They self identify as different people, but all also self-identify as being the producers or representing the producers of the program - so at the very least, clear meatpuppetry. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 22:16, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And I note that Dollyparton7 (who identifies as Earl Timmons) wrote "We have SEVERAL different producers. We do not all share the same USERNAME. " which implies some sharing. Doug Weller talk 17:01, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to phone me at your convenience, Barek. You feign friendship, but obviously your pretense to assist and be helpful is not the case. Earl Timmons, President and CEO of Church of God Worldwide and The World Tomorrow Evangelistic Association; Producer of The World Tomorrow. An editor and established user like yourself could have easily acted as a volunteer to insert the image requested. Our number is listed and publically available online at our website and production partner's websites all over the internet. I am looking forward to speaking with you personally. You can reach me anytime day or night. Earl 1-(865) 774-4600.Dollyparton7 (talk) 19:50, 2 December 2016 (UTC)dollyparton7 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dollyparton7 (talkcontribs)

Do not make accusations without providing evidence. Doing so is a personal attack and will likely be summarily removed. Do not link to or include material that may reveal personal information about an editor. Doing so is outing and will be dealt with accordingly.Dollyparton7 (talk) 19:57, 2 December 2016 (UTC)dollyparton7[reply]

I see no outing. Dollyparton7 may not be able to reply as they've made a clear legal threat. Doug Weller talk 21:29, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User TGTAEA engaged in very similar edits in focus and attitude to blocked user, SPA focused on The World Tomorrow (radio and television) discussions - attempted ownership of talk page (edits have been revdeled due to an attempted OUTing by user, but the 04:10, 8 April 2018‎ edit on Talk:The World Tomorrow (radio and television) deleted an existing discussion relevant to the editing of the page is an example of that), attacking editor for questioning the production status of the show in question (puppet claimed without foundation that said editor - me - was a sockpuppet repeatedly on talk page in edits now revdeled and on my user page here, ignoring repeated suggestions that if there was a sockpuppet concern, SPI would be the place to take it. The names used as inside-the-comment signature in this edit are ones that suggest a strong COI that concurs with the COI problems of sockmaster. Nat Gertler (talk) 14:22, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ADDED: New user 420high has shown up, repeating similar accusations, and similar misuses of the term "phishing" to what TGTAEA used here. (And, in the edit summary, showing a shared misunderstanding the word "splice".) --Nat Gertler (talk) 16:39, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • CU confirms TGTEA or whatever with 420high (and User:Pete Brady, if anyone's counting) and the discerning Checkuser noticed an IP along the way as well. I'm blocking 420high for their disruptive comments and their silly username; a CU block is too much honor for them. Drmies (talk) 02:28, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Barrelafun is a new account that popped up following the blocking of the previous Garnerted socks, whose sole edit has been to try to delete a discussion that previous sock had tried to delete as well. First IP then left a harassing message on my talk page in a thread that previous socks had started, and signed it with the Barrelafun name. Second IP's sole recent edit is to add similar message to article talk page. Nat Gertler (talk) 22:43, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

These accounts show the same fascination with The World Tomorrow (radio and television) as prior investigated accounts. All three attempted the same edits (I cannot show the diff for DRUnflitered as those revisions have been revdel'd, but looking at the page history for the relevant talk page will still show a pair of edits deleting around 30 and around 50 bytes, as did the previous two accounts.) Edit summary on the first of those diffs suggests years of involvement with this matter. DFUnflitered is currently blocked for bumptuous legal threats, which there is a history of with this apparent sock farm (see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive940#Legal_threats_by_Dollyparton7.) -Nat Gertler (talk) 21:48, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
