Suspected sockpuppets

These accounts appear to exist primarily for the advancement of Brian Sherwin and a website he apparently co-founded, myartspace. They have collectively peppered wikipedia with links to myartspace and attempted to save Brian's article from deletion on at least 1, 2, 3 occasions, earning a COI discussion. That discussion points out Brian is from Roodhouse, IL. Roodhouse1 laughably denies connection to Roodhouse when confronted about similar editing patterns. Similarity in style can be seen while the accounts argue against Brian's removal from the Illinois College page here and here. These accounts can be found building consensus with each-other on pro-Brian edits here and here. The latest sock, SunRiddled, most recently violated WP:3RR on the page of the college that Brian attended here. John Milito (talk) 04:58, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have personal supporting evidence that I would be happy to provide to the appropriate admin upon request. Thanks John Milito (talk) 05:26, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All of these accounts are very much  Stale. I don't see any evidence this is alternate account abuse. TNXMan 18:02, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Am I allowed to write in this section? Apologies in advance if not. The earliest of these accounts is quite old, from 2007, as you say. However the accounts span all the way up to SunRiddled, who is editing to the present day. This indicates to me only that this guy is patient and has been abusing Wikipedia for a long period of time. A sock appears, makes an large amount of edits beneficial to Brian, gets heat from the edits, then disappears. Then another and another. I think this individual's motive is to conceal his controversial past editing per WP:HIDING. Take a look at the User compare report. These users insert the same links to Brian's website on the same obscure articles per WP:IDENTICAL, they converse with the same users about Brian, and they write in a similar style. Roodhouse1's denial of knowledge of roodhouse's edits constitutes WP:SIMNAME (these two accounts were created 6 days apart and both focus on Brian). These users' uncommon fight to keep the Brian Sherwin page alive and spammy seems to point to WP:XS. John Milito (talk) 23:35, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • information Administrator note Of these listed, only SunRiddled has edited in the past twelve months. The other accounts go as far back as 2007. There's no recent abuse of accounts, and there's no point in blocking accounts that are four years old. Yes, Roodhouse is almost certainly Roodhouse1, and if this had been brought up back in 2008 when they were active, we could have done something about it. For now, SunRiddled is the only account, so let's leave it at that. Relist if there are any actual abuses of multiple accounts. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 01:27, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
