Suspected sockpuppets

User:Denis.g.rancourt created the Ontario Civil Liberties Association article on 18 July 2015. He was subsequently accused of conflict of interest and admitted an association with the organization. Since then, User:Tobeme_free has been editing the article from the same point of view. User:Tobeme_free's only prior edits had been 6 made on 30 October 2011 before going dormant for over 4 1/2 years and then suddenly springing back to life on 14 Febrauary 2016 to edit the Ontario Civil Liberties Association article and contribute to various talk pages in regards to the article. The only articles User:Tobeme_free has ever edited are Ontario Civil Liberties Association and Dorothy Reitman. In a post made here User:Tobeme_free states "I have communicated with Denis Rancourt in this regard and we both agree that this would be an acceptable solution. While Mr. Rancourt does have a COI related to this page, I do not. I am an Advocate for the cause." and that " last change is (and was) acceptable to both Rancourt and myself" however there is no evidence on either User talk:Tobeme free or User talk:Denis.g.rancourt or anywhere else of the two communicating with each other on wikipedia and, as far as I can tell, their email via wikipedia options are not enabled. This strongly suggests that either they are the same person or, at the very least, that there is meatpuppetry going on.

It also appears taht the User:Tobeme_free account sprang back to life concurrently with User:Denis.g.rancourt being warned about suspected IP sockpuppetry here.

Lastly, there is suspicious IP editing at Denis Rancourt which suggests that Rancourt, who presumably is User:Denis.g.rancourt in real life, has been editing his eponymous article in violation of WP:COI. Concerns about this were made here.

According to Wikipedia:Open_proxies: "When a Checkuser detects that an account has been using open proxies, this information may be considered when evaluating suspicions of sock puppetry or other editing abuses. If there is an appearance that an account has been using open proxies to circumvent policy, the account may be blocked."
