Evidence submitted by Surtsicna

Bosnipedian (a rather disruptive editor) told me that Bosnia used agnatic-elective monarchy and later, after I insisted that Bosnia was an elective monarchy, Regionlegion said that he had already explained that to me (even though I had absolutely no contact with him prior to that comment). Later, Bosnipedian completely agreed with Regionlegion in this discussion, simply repeating his arguments. The two accounts edit the same pages and put the same (dubious/disputed) information in the same articles (see all their edits; an example and another example). Furthermore, Regionlegion was unexplainably aggressive (engaging in personal attacks) towards me the first time he wrote anything to me, probably because he had already met me while using the Bosnipedian account. Bosnipedian also happens to know what Regionlegion thinks. Bosnipedian (here) and Regionlegion (here) describe over 50 sources that contradict them as emotional and sentimental (those two being the only accounts I know of that describe a source as emotional or sentimental). Bosnipedian (here) and Regionlegion (here) refer to a Christendom monarchy (such term is completely unused by historians and others, meaning that only Bosnipedian/Regionlegion misuses the term). Bosnipedian (here) and Regionlegion (here) also refer to a Princedom of Bosnia, a state never mentioned by English language sources or by Bosnian language sources, thus indicating that the Princedom of Bosnia is a product of one person's original research.

The whole discussion I had with Regionlegion/Bosnipedian (both newcomers the former being a newcomer) should be carefully reviewed, as both his responses and lack of responses to my comments regarding sockpuppetry are (in my humble opinion) indicators that the user is using a sock puppet. Surtsicna (talk) 14:42, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Among many personal attacks made by Bosnipedian/Regionlegion, I'd like to mention calling me a lunatic (as Regionlegion; the summary of that edit also indicates POV pushing and an agenda) and again a lunatic (as Bosnipedian; different wording, even more offending), ignorant and unable to think (as Regionlegion), a funny character (as Bosnipedian; I doubt he meant humorous), a a sorry man (as Bosnipedian), etc. Surtsicna (talk) 13:39, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Now others too believe this is a case of sockpuppetry. Surtsicna (talk) 10:38, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page is "bad faith". Regionlegion (talk) 04:17, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then I guess calling a person ignorant the first time you write anything to that person is "good faith". Surtsicna (talk) 10:38, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that this is bad faith. The claimant has august imagination, as demonstrated by his calling me a "new" member, though I am a member since 2008. He hastily does other things too: reversals, comments which he edits 5 times in 2 minutes so you can't respond due to editing conflicts he creates, and he even proposed a whole new, large, and well-referenced page I wrote Bosnian Royal Family for deletion only 10 minutes after it was up. His insinuations have been exposed on Talk:Bosnian_Royal_Family, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Bosnian_Royal_Family and Talk:History_of_Bosnia_and_Herzegovina_(1463–1878). Even on this page, he is not talking proofs of alleged sockpuppets, just keeps discussing his version of history of Bosnia, and how I and others have somehow "wronged" about his opinions. A totally confused personality, I gather. Bosnipedian (talk) 15:10, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Evidence submitted by Surtsicna

This is what User:Goldor has inserted into the article List of rulers of Bosnia. This is what the blocked User:Bosnipedian has inserted into the same article. It's an identical text. Here Goldor says that he wants an edit war, saying that we wanted an edit war - very likely referring to User:Bosnipedian who was blocked first for edit warring and then for using sock puppets. Now, ice on the cake, he wrote this. Let me cite a few sentences here: "I just created account here. I am Bosnian patriot who was alerted about this discussion and fights between Serb and English nationalists against Bosnians... There are more of us coming and creating accounts from all over the world... Phone calls, email, SMSs, forums postings, we are growing huge... Media worldwide will hear about this case too." I believe this is more than enough. Surtsicna (talk) 10:59, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All these edited the same nonsense into List of current pretenders. This started four years ago with Bosnipedian, and has continued with numerous socks and IP addresses. Evidence can be seen by checking the most recent edits from these editors, they all add very similar content in very similar articles. I have the impression that there are quite a few other editors and IPs around doing the same stuff, so some check and perhaps blocks of ranges can be useful here. Fram (talk) 16:05, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can also look at all the IPs contributing to Wikipedia:Edit filter/False positives/Reports#Bosnian royal claimant entry from Library of Congress. They are disrupting quite a few places (also some scientific articles), and this has been going on and off for four years or more. Many IPs, some registered users.

See also Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ideabeach, which is probably the same sockfarm as Bosnipedian. Fram (talk) 19:54, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also some untagged and/or unblocked editors, like User:Reaubilya. Fram (talk) 20:07, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The first two IPs (.101 and .171) are adding the same fringe theory abut usurped Bosnian royalty as did past socks: [3], [4] vs [5]. Amongst other similarities, all three link to the the website: http://wiki.royalfamily.ba/wiki/Mensur_Omerbashich (as well as http://lccn.loc.gov/nb2014019221). I'm quite certain that the royalfamily wiki article was created by Bosnipedian, but to prove that would require other off-wiki material that might contravene WP:OUTING. TDL (talk) 00:36, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The third IP (.208) removed a tag from the second IP's (.171) talk page. All three IPs geolocate to Sarajevo.
The third IP also resumed the edit war for which Overdtop was blocked: [6] vs [7]. TDL (talk) 20:36, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The user is back spamming links to their royalfamily.ba blog, ie [14]. In particular, the user is adding content on a hoax related to an "usurped Bosnian monarchy" and Omerbašić Berislavić Nemanjić, which Bosnipedian is obsessed with: [15]/[16]. Compare with [17]/[18]

This edit connects Sevvyan to User:Istoalinije and hence User:Ideabeach. Here Istoalinije refers to Omerbashich. Compare [19] w [20]. Probably should move Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Ideabeach here. TDL (talk) 18:42, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Duck. Bosnipedian's sock, Sevvyan has a theory that Boris Kalamanos was identical with Ban Borić. Sevvyan made several edits to present this theory in both articles: [27] [28] ("Bosnia rule" section) [29] [30] ("Connection to Boris Kalamanos" section). Comment by Borsoka: yes, the IP is obviously identical with Bosnipedian. He has always been convinced that Boris Kalamanos (who died in the early 1150s) and Ban Boric (who was still alive in 1167) were identical, and he has always been misinterpreting Hóman and Klaić. Bosnipedian was an editor who thinks that (i) Boris Kalamanos was identical with Ban Borić, and (ii) Ban Borić was the ancestor of the Berislavići Grabarski. (I think he is also convinced that he is related to the Berislavići Grabarski, thus he is a member of the royal Árpád dynasty, but this is irrelevant.) The first IP is pushing the first claim ([50]), while the second IP wants to present the second claim. Borsoka (talk) 17:49, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Additional ip addresses:

Talk:Earthquake prediction has been plagued with episodic promotions of the pseudoscientific "hyperresonance" theory of Mensur Omerbashich [Omerbašić] from anonymous IP addresses that locate to Sarajevo (Bosnia).

Currently these include personal attacks, such as "Hitler would be proud of fascist like you. Go away Nazi", "What a vivid display of how a Nazi mind malfunctions", and "Another display of how militarized Nazi minds malfunction - strictly focused, never distracted from the holy goal of maintaining fake truth at all costs".

Previous instances in 2015 and 2016 are here, ("That sure doesn't make you look like a scientist" 09:43, 19 Jan; "How old are you, ten?" 20:57, 19 Jan), here, ("Hot air from anonymous "scientist" on hobby-pedia" 19:09, 2 Jun), and here, with an earlier (2013) instance with indefinitely blocked User:Aminidi here.

The similarities of effusive and even grandiloquent language regarding Omerbashich and his theories, general style and tone, abusive attitude to other editors, and the occasional cross-connect with other topics associated with Omerbashich suggest that these IPs are "ducks", and likely sockpuppets of User:Bosnipedian; the IP addresses are close to those associated with Bosnipedian (see WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Bosnipedian/Archive). ~ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 21:31, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

While I presume Vanjagenije's removal of the "Why Wikipedia is a Nazi encyclopedia of today" section (added by NeoNeoHunter) is on sufficient basis of personal (?) attacks or such, in order to maintain a complete record of the misbehavior, including the comment here, we need to keep at least a link so that other editors can see what it is. ~ J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 20:32, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On January 21 the article Kotromanić dynasty came under repeated edit warring by an IP, 77.238.223.222, who promoted the idea of Bosnian royalty (as Bosnipedian did) and complained in edit summaries about “hoaxes” by “Freemasonry”.[51][52] The article was semi-protected and the IP was blocked for 24 hours. Immediately the account Tersarius, inactive since 2012, was reactivated. The newly awakened account did enough edits to become auto-confirmed, and then resumed the attack on the article Kotromanić dynasty, using similar edit summaries. [53] They also made edits with similar edit summaries at Ban Kulin and Ban Borić.

I am going to indef the user Tersarius per DUCK, but I thought I should get this report into the archives. I think checkuser might be useful to look for other sleepers. MelanieN (talk) 16:55, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
