Suspected sockpuppets

Livioandronico2013 has been indefinitely blocked from Commons and de.wiki for sockpuppetry and disruptive/non-collaborative behavior (in essence, pushing their photos cross-wiki even when the existing ones are actually better); two of their SP have already been recognized here on en.wiki, but not the others. IamAlwaysHere is the most recent addition: exact same behavior, and quite peculiar coincidence: Livioandronico2013 came out of a long sleep to use twice a photo uploaded just a few hours before by IamAlwaysHere, while the latter "signs" their photos as "own work" under the username "Paris Orlando" (example). Same name as "Paris Orlando". Same penchant for pushing copyvio photos on Commons by his other blocked sock IKKos and by himself.  Sounds like a duck quacking into a megaphone to me Elizium23 (talk) 21:54, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Clerk declined - this case seems stale. There are no non-stale accounts (stale accounts are accounts which have made no action in 3 months so there is no CU data for the account) listed in the archives. Therefore, CU won't be able to link this account to the other accounts. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 12:05, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Clerk note: I see three touch points between this account and past socks: the name (as pointed out by the filer), the interest in Italy (particularly Venice), and the extremely wide cross-wiki efforts to change to their preferred pictures. I think that is sufficient to establish a behavioral link.  Blocked and tagged, Redirect arrow Global lock(s) requested GeneralNotability (talk) 13:07, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Loves to insert his own photo. When I called him on it, didn't exactly play dumb. Messing around on itwiki now. Elizium23 (talk) 19:25, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WP:LTA. User is uploading professional-quality photos of Italian landmarks and tourist attractions. Example: File:Colonna di Marco aurelio - Frontale.jpg and File:Castello Caetani (Sermoneta).jpg, see EXIF data is "Author: Paris Orlando". User will be forcing their photos into every language and project of WMF (files already pushed into dozens of projects since their registration in July.) Globally-locked account involved in chronic IP evasions since the last registered accounts were shut down. I do not expect him to deny his identity. @Dreamy Jazz: late addition of New2022, found on Commons. Elizium23 (talk) 23:39, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Adding more socks for posterity; these are already blocked on Commons and globally locked at Meta. Elizium23 (talk) 21:30, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Likely to this master on Commons, see c:Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Livioandronico2013#Monticiano. (Despite the case title differences, Livioandronico2013=Σπάρτακος, see block log) — Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 16:34, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • There's not much on enwiki to compare them against. CU says they're in the right geolocation compared to historic data, and the editing interests are a match; taking the findings on commons into account, blocking as suspected, and will request lock. This IP is imposing LTA's versions among other's good faith contributions and improvements, a common modus operandi by the LTA himself while was unblocked. This IP is also doing the same in other Wikimedia projects like Wikidata, French, Dutch, Polish and Italian Wikipedias. 81.41.175.237 (talk) 19:42, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing uses of the file File:DianaLouvre.jpg on enwiki with File:Diana of Versailles.jpg, a picture of the same statue uploaded by this LTA on Commons. They are also doing this on a very large scale cross-wiki in a seemingly methodical manner. ‍—‍a smart kitten[meow] 03:00, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding another account which is doing the same thing - replacing photos in articles with ones uploaded on Commons by either the master or one of their sockpuppets. ‍—‍a smart kitten[meow] 12:03, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • The technical relationship is reasonably  Likely but I'm going to mark these as suspected and block based on behaviour, which is, in my opinion, a more useful metric for this case. Maxim (talk) 13:18, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing the main image of Fontana del Nettuno, Piazza del Popolo and St. Peter's Basilica with photographs of the same subjects uploaded by this LTA's sockpuppets on Commons. They are also doing this on a very large scale cross-wiki in a seemingly methodical manner. See also Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Livioandronico2013 and Wikidata:Requests for checkuser/Case/Σπάρτακος at Commons and Wikidata. 83.61.247.43 (talk) 23:26, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to file an SPI for this user myself. Restored sockpuppet-edits without comment (compare: [2] & [3], [4] & [5], [6] & [7], [8] & [9]), and replacing images in articles with ones uploaded by sockpuppets on Commons (e.g. [10] - file uploaded by Scanno12, [11] - file uploaded by Labicanense, [12] - file uploaded by Commonists, [13] - file uploaded by Livioandronico2013, [14] - file uploaded by ThePhotografer). New account created few time after the Checkuser request against PubblicUsername, with the same user page's style such as the latter. The IP looks like being used by this LTA, a typical modus operandi concerning them and their sockpuppets. Asking for intervention to @A smart kitten, Johnbod, and Spicy as they participated in the latest sockpuppet investigation. 83.61.247.43 (talk) 12:30, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re. PentaPrisma23: has the same global userpage as PubblicUsername (compare [15] & [16]); and replaced images in articles with one uploaded to Commons by sockpuppet Livioandronico2013 in [17] & [18]. Re. 112.206.2.12: personally I'm unsure (although it might just be that I'm less familiar with this case than others) - a number of their edits are image changes without explanation; however, I could only find one diff where a sock-uploaded image was inserted ([19], uploaded by DellaGherardesca). Per common modus operandi of Livioandronico2013's sockpuppet accounts. Reuploading images of previous socks and overwriting existing images with his own, further proof is also technical EXIF data matching with his previous accounts, especially the camera type. • Ran a check for sleepers. The data is broadly consistent with past accounts. I didn't see any others but the IPs in use are very dynamic which limits the usefulness of CU. It's probably best to block these based on behaviour. Spicy (talk) 17:22, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
