Emetman (3rd request)

Possible the following are Emetman (talk · contribs): Joebobby (talk · contribs), Johnjohn13 (talk · contribs), Binyaminyigal (talk · contribs), TLVEWR (talk · contribs), Handle in the Wind (talk · contribs), SnowPart (talk · contribs), and PalinforVeep (talk · contribs). Accounts were found on various IPs/ISPs in the same geographic region. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 01:51, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Emetman (2nd request)

  •  Confirmed PalinforVeep and MaClainDiesHard are the same person but Red X Unrelated to the rest.
  •  Confirmed the following accounts:
  1. Emetman (talk · contribs · block log)
  2. Judae1 (talk · contribs · block log)
  3. RubenKlor (talk · contribs · block log)
  4. JFseekingtruth (talk · contribs · block log)
  5. Kilecram (talk · contribs · block log)
  6. MaryBeth1 (talk · contribs · block log)
  7. MF7003 (talk · contribs · block log)
  8. BigMommaHome (talk · contribs · block log)
  • Note that what has happened here is that since the last check, Emetman now edits exclusively from his home IP address, while the other accounts all edit exclusively from a business office in the same city. Based on shared article contributions, they are either the same person or they are working together. There are a few other editors at the same workplace who do not have overlapping contributions so I have declined to name them for now, they might be innocent bystanders. I believe you will find many of the shared edits relate to 5W Public Relations, it's founders or its clients. COI editing is not banned automatically, but it is cautioned against because it can lead to other behavioral problems, as is apprently the case here. Thatcher 01:58, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Clerk note: Okay, I have indef blocked all the above named accounts with the exception of Judae1 (talk · contribs) who does not appear to be related, Thatcher, you think you could take another look please. Tiptoety talk 06:17, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
With all due respect, it does not make me guilty of any COI edits, nor does it invalidate my two years of Wikipedia edits and creation many pages. Robert Ulrich is not a COI, it's just an article with light or insufficient information. If there is a different opinion out there, I'd like to hear it. In creating or enhancing pages, it behooves to have links. As Ulrich is a board member of the church mentioned, it seemed like a good idea. Being in an office of 95 people, all with the same IP address, does not invalidate a user's contributions, nor should it. Juda S. Engelmayer (talk) 13:35, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I have blocked Judae1 for 48 hours. I am thinking that a indef block of this specific account (knowing that it is the same editor as the others listed above) is a bit harsh and does not acknowledge all the great work he has done. So Judae1: this is the only account you are allowed to edit from. Tiptoety talk 14:14, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
