The result of the discussion was retarget to Latinx. Any hatnotes, Rcats, etc. are free to be added ~ Amory (utc) 09:50, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Latinx (the original target) as a related term (see e.g. Morphological Gender Innovations in Spanish of Genderqueer Speakers by Papadapolous, 2019). Other pages use Latine only as part of a longer phrase (e.g. "small Latine and lesse Greeke"). Also a word for 'Latin' in French, Italian, Portuguese, etc, but Latine doesn't appear on the DAB page at all, which is no help to readers searching for this term specifically. And on the English Wikipedia, we don't usually keep generic redirects from foreign languages. A hatnote on the target page can handle any further ambiguity. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 23:10, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looke at the Shakespeare's play Loues labors loſt (with emphasis):

Costard: Go to; thou hast it ad dungill [sic], at the fingers' ends, as they say.
Holofernes: O, I smell false Latine; dunghill for unguem.

--Soumyabrata (talksubpages) 05:22, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're saying that Shakespeare misspelled Latin there? How many readers are going to be searching for Latin using an archaic spelling from the late 1500s? —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 03:30, 12 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

F. W. Benson

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. signed, Rosguill talk 01:29, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article as an alternative name for the subject of the target article, and could refer to anyone with first initial "F", middle initial "W", last name "Benson". At the least, this redirect is ambiguous with the topic at Frank W. Benson (politician). So ... unless evidence of the redirect used as someone's alias is provided, best to delete this. The result of the discussion was speedy keep. I'll note that Dmehus is now blocked until June, so he would not have been able to participate further in this discussion. -- Tavix (talk) 17:55, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I stumbled upon this redirect while using the "search Wikipedia" search box on a related subject and, while butcher in French is bouchère/boucher, in this case, I'm not certain this misspelling is the best use of this redirect here. I'm not advocating deletion, but I would note that my former high school, Mount Boucherie Senior Secondary School, may be a more appropriate target. At the same time, we do appear to have several partial references to Boucherie using the "contains" search function. There is also at least one potential target with the surname "Boucherie." Doug M. It is not clear why these redirect here. There was apparently an instrumental track "Technique" on Hybrid Theory (EP) (but not on the album Hybrid Theory). Hybrid Theory (EP) redirects to the discography but there is no mention of "Technique" in the target article. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:17, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I agree. We can target the EP's page if/when it ever gets created, but until then deletion seems like the right call. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 21:34, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Technique (short) regardless. Short what - film? poem? story? No, none of those, apparently. Terrible qualifier.
Delete Technique (song) without prejudice against recreation as a redirect if a suitable target is added somewhere, e.g. as {{R from song}}. Narky Blert (talk) 23:32, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep Cary grant and Archibald alec leach, retarget Carygrant to a relevant list of minor planets, delete the rest.. Note that ArchibaldAlexanderLeach was already G7 deleted before this close, but the consensus was for deletion regardless. signed, Rosguill talk 01:28, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Correctly capitalised or formatted versions of these redirects exist, and there doesn't seem to be any requirement for these erroneous ones. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:18, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Population centre

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Retarget Population centre to Center of population. signed, Rosguill talk 01:22, 13 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget the first to Center of population to align the two. There is a move discussion at Talk:Center of population#Requested move 5 March 2020, but the two issues are not co-dependent, so I thought it better to list this here and cross-reference. There are thirty incoming links from other articles to the Canada article.85.238.91.68 (talk) 05:45, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: the first is a term for a geographic statistical area. What is most common for “population centre”? “Centre of population” seems like a stretch. If the geographic statistical area is confirmed as less common, I think we will need a new disambiguated redirect such as Population centre (Canada). Hwy43 (talk) 05:56, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"Population Center" is only linked from two articles. So as far as usage is concerned, the Statistics Canada term is fifteen times more common. But common sense would seem to indicate that the general meaning must needs be more common than Statistics Canada's specific one, so I agree a more specific redirect is needed, per WP:PRECISE. From April to July 2013 it was a two-entry DAB page. 85.238.91.68 (talk) 06:02, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete I know this is tagged with {{R without mention}}, but should we really have redirects for non-notable (presumably former) employees to their employers? UnitedStatesian (talk) 04:58, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral — Nothing malignant about it, so this could be viewed as yet another example of Wikipedians who are far more interested in defining what's notable than reflecting what's notable, judging from the state of the KINY article. However, my past attempts to work with Merovingian and their spree of questionable content creations led nowhere, so I wouldn't mourn its deletion. Subject does not appear to have ever been known by this name. Length also seems to be longer than any of the measurements mentioned at Nail (fastener)#Sizes, so there's no point in retargeting there. Hog Farm (talk) 03:58, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The only place this Middle-earth river is mentioned is at the dab page Minden (disambiguation), where it probably shouldn't be mentioned anyway because of the spelling difference. This page was blanked and redirected in 2006, so there should be no WP:ATT issues with deletion because the content wasn't merged anywhere at all. If I'm misunderstanding ATT here, I'll withdraw the nom. Hog Farm (talk) 03:38, 5 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
