The result of the discussion was retarget to Last Week Tonight segments about Donald Trump#.22Stupid Watergate.22. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:56, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently a nickname of John Oliver's for the topic, it's not mentioned at the target page, and there isn't really a good reason for it to be. It's not a common or intuitive nickname for the subject, to the point where I had speedily deleted it as vandalism until I was corrected. BDD (talk) 22:55, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Here are some more Esperanto redirects created at the same time by Diego Grez-Cañete. They have no affinity with that language and should be deleted per WP:RFOREIGN. -- Tavix (talk) 19:18, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of Polish popes

The result of the discussion was retarget to List of popes by nationality#Poland. (non-admin closure) Anarchyte (work | talk) 23:38, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It is a WP:SURPRISE to have a "list of" redirect to an article that does not contain such a list. -- Tavix (talk) 18:28, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There's also a smaller List of popes by country, should that be merged into this one? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:07, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, although the title is arguably a better reflection of the content the by nationality list is more developed and we don't need both of them. Thryduulf (talk) 09:19, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thryduulf, you can pick whichever title fits and make the other a bold redirect. I'm striking my previous vote. And remove the refimprove tag, as popes listed are notable and are confirmed by the articles themselves. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:30, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@AngusWOOF: Well the "by nationality" list is clearly the better (and longest standing) article so any merge should go to that. I'll leave it at that title until this RfD closes, but might do an RM or bold move after that. Thryduulf (talk) 16:14, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've added The Guardian article to the nationality one. It also has stats so you can use that to modify and to support the counts on the country table. Support Retarget and develop that article AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:50, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Tourism#World tourism statistics and rankings. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:58, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This should redirect to a list, if anything. I can't find a list though, so I'm suggesting deletion. AmaryllisGardener talk 16:31, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's also okay to retarget to Tourism#World_tourism_statistics_and_rankings as those have more general stats plus a list of cities for 2016 from both Mastercard and Euromonitor. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:13, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was deprecate. I'm setting up an error message like what was done to {{source}}. -- Tavix (talk) 13:52, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing redirect; has been used incorrectly as if it were {{Cite web}} and {{URL}}. I've replaced all transclusions (including several from link spammers who incorrectly replaced the "dead" in {{Dead link}}). Jc86035 (talk) Use {{re|Jc86035}}

  • Deprecate. With such a name, this template is bound to see continuing attempts at use. I think it's best if 1) a template doc page is created listing the likely templates a user might have been looking for; and 2) the template's transcluded content is set to an error message telling editors not to use it, similar to what is done for Template:Requestforcomment (which was the outcome of a a discussion from earlier this year). – Uanfala (talk) 13:03, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete and salt, which will make transclusions pop up in a database report, or turn it into an error-generating disambiguation template page as suggested above (so long as there is an automated process for find and fixing uses). Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 00:13, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was no consensus. -- Tavix (talk) 16:23, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Contra-MOS markup (capital A vs. MOS:TMRULES/MOS:CAPS, dashed "EP" vs. WP:DASH and WP:OFFICIALNAME) and unnecessary disambiguation on a redirect, where the ambigous conterpart, Throw a Fit, does not even exist. Lordtobi () 16:56, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. I've created a set index article (rather than a disambiguation page) out of the items listed by Thryduulf. The inclusion of items from the longer list at Wikipedia talk:Redirects for discussion/Log/2017 May 26 is left at the discretion of editors. Redundant and unnecessary PRehse (talk) 08:18, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - in the Super Mario Bros. (film), Mario is referred to as "Mario Mario". Also, the second Mario could refer to the franchise, as in "the Mario character from the Mario games". - Richard Cavell (talk) 09:37, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep While "Mario (Mario)" wouldn't be a plausible way of referring to "Mario Mario", this does work as "Mario (Mario)". I'll admit it's wonky and maybe not a super likely search term, but it fits our conventions of disambiguating characters by franchise. Compare to Angel (Angel) (and maybe add it to the nomination?). --BDD (talk) 15:12, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nah. Both Seinfeld and Colbert played fictional characters based on themselves, but it wouldn't make sense for us to describe the fictional characters in the biographies of the actual people. --BDD (talk) 17:07, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
