Also:

Orphaned, redundant and unlikely search term. not sure what the rationale was behind creating these redirects since they don't seem very useful and they all lead to the same place. œ 10:14, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

re-target, create new dab (disambiguation) page, i.e. 朝阳区 (disambiguation)

  • inaccurate, misleading re-direct for users who know Chinese.
  • there are three places named 'Chaoyang District' in China: one is in Beijing, another in Changchun, in Jilin Province, and the other in Shantou, Guangdong
    • however, if you do a search on the Chinese Wiki with the EXACT characters I typed, you will notice that...
      • the Chaoyang District of Beijing and the one in Changchun have the above character representation
      • the Chaoyang District of Shantou is represented by 阳区. only a one character (actually one radical) difference, yet crucial. the re-direct for that specific character representation is correct, as it points to Chaoyang District, Shantou.
  • '朝阳区' is NOT the same in traditional. the traditional equivalent is '朝陽區'. Since they are equivalent, whatever happens to the '朝阳区' MUST happen to its traditional equivalent. --- 华钢琴49 (TALK) 03:16, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Re-target as per nom. I don't know Chinese but I'll take your word for it. -- œ 10:18, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
your not knowing of Chinese is acceptable but should not affect other users. other than that, you provided no reason for deleting. and your reason better not be a simple but pedantic 'this is the English WIKI'; if it is, your opinion will not be regarded for now. ---华钢琴49 (TALK) 13:12, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oops! Not sure why I wrote delete actually... My intention was to agree with you! -- œ 11:31, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - it is our practice to Romanise page titles, so creating a disambiguation page in Chinese doesn't seem a good idea. Also, even if the translation is not strictly correct, since all three Chaoyang Districts are listed at the existing disambiguation page, then readers will be able to find the information they are seeking, so it achieves its purpose. Bridgeplayer (talk) 19:25, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
point taken, as Romanising page titles is preferrable, but... there is a disambiguation page in Chinese/Japanese/Hanja/Chu Nom for the word 'dragon'. ---华钢琴49 (TALK) 21:57, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
