If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Motives for the September 11 attacks → Rationale for the September 11 attacks (move · discuss) – WP:TITLECON; consistency with other articles such as Rationale for the Iraq War, Rationale for the Gulf War etc. There's no other Wiki article titles "Motives for the.....". 182.191.145.138 (talk • contribs) 01:42, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Trichosanthes dioica → Potol (currently a redirect back to Trichosanthes dioica) (move · discuss) – This plant is culinarily significant and is known by the name "Potol" in majority of the English language sources. Requesting it's move as per WP:FLORATITLES and WP:UCRN. SriHarsha Bhogi (talk) 13:25, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- DOA (mixtape) → DOA (album) (currently a redirect instead to Bloodrock) (move · discuss) – Majority of sources call this an album rather than a mixtape, and the disambiguation should reflect that. Current target's album does not appear to be notable, and can/should be replaced with a hatnote. Current title should be tagged as {{r from incorrect disambiguation}}. - Note that D.o.A: The Third and Final Report of Throbbing Gristle may be seen as ambiguous. 162 etc. (talk) 02:12, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- @162 etc. I think the punctuation and capitalization is enough for WP:SMALLDIFFS and a hatnote should suffice. --Ahecht (TALK

- Draft:Harry Darley → Harry Darley (currently a redirect instead to List of Worcestershire County Cricket Club players) (move · discuss) – redirect blocking the move Hildreth gazzard (talk) 20:14, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- Santa Cruz Department (Bolivia) → Santa Cruz Department (move · discuss) – Clearly the primary topic. Current disambiguation page links to this article and to a non-existent article on a second-level Chilean administrative division. Another article (Santa Cruz Department (Peru–Bolivian Confederation)) covers the history of the primary subject. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 03:22, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Somebody else's problem → Someone else's problem (currently a redirect back to Somebody else's problem) (move · discuss) – more common name + concise Jruderman (talk) 14:04, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Jruderman What evidence do you have that it is more common? Being 1 letter shorter is not very much. Could this be an WP:ENGVAR situation? Bensci54 (talk) 16:21, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with @Bensci54. I don't see a strong reason to change the name. The difference is minor, and I'm not convinced it's more commonly used. Waqar💬 16:47, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- The stable version of the article also references a Douglas Adams passage which specifically uses "somebody else's problem". 162 etc. (talk) 18:49, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

- Fwiw I'm also trying to move the page from Wikipedia to Wiktionary at the same time. This is causing a bit of a mess so I'll slow down on the move-to-Wiktionary part. Sorry for the confusion. Jruderman (talk) 22:20, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- Draft:Jack Home → Jack Home (currently a redirect instead to List of Worcestershire County Cricket Club players) (move · discuss) – redirect blocking the move Hildreth gazzard (talk) 20:14, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Hildreth gazzard I'm not Home meets WP:NCRICKET, as he hasn't played at an international level, and unlike Harry Darley, the coverage of him is mostly WP:ROUTINE and passing mentions. --Ahecht (TALK
