- Also uploaded as an unfree image at File:Frankie Cutlass Promo Shot.jpeg, so the claim that this is own work and freely licensed may be wrong. Stefan2 (talk) 14:11, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Convert to fairuse self-identification used by the organization. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 00:51, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- That's more than just a logo. If it were the agency's logo that they use on their website, letterhead, marketing literature, forms, etc, okay, fine, but it looks like their logo is just the regular Canadian maple leaf. This wouldn't be appropriate for fair use unless it is the subject of actual sourced commentary. --B (talk) 18:37, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- You're confusing the top banner of Canadian government websites with the logo of this agency. The nominator is correct that this is invalid PD as it will be subject to Crown Copyright. But I think it is valid as a fair use claim like any other logo. Resolute 22:11, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- See: Canadian Forces. Their website has just the maple leaf at the top as well. Should we delete all of these logos for Canada?--Canoe1967 (talk) 16:06, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- The image in that article seems to have used Commons:COM:COA#Public domain definition (blason) to create an image which is hosted on Commons. Should this image go away as replaceable for the same reason?
- Something is strange with the sources: File:Canadian Forces emblem.svg is listed as being based on File:Canadian Forces Flag.svg, but the flag is in turn listed as based on the emblem. --Stefan2 (talk) 16:22, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- It doesn't need to go away yet. It is public domain according to the commons link above so even website rips of it are public domain. It can be moved to commons with the same rationale.--Canoe1967 (talk) 17:19, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Only a textual description of the image is in the public domain. This image is protected by copyright per Commons:COM:COA#Copyright on the representation. Someone else would have to make a new drawing based on the same textual description. See Blazon. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:45, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- We should be able to keep it here as fair use until that does happen then. Otherwise every Canadian government article here would have a maple leaf as its only logo. We have many logos that are public domain because of Threshold of originality and ripped from the net. We can either delete all of them until the .svg wizards make new ones from scratch or just keep them as fair use.--Canoe1967 (talk) 20:26, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Logos below the threshold of originality are another issue. Those logos are in the public domain despite some uploaders tagging all uploaded logos as unfree. When I spot one, I often correct the licensing by simply moving the image to Commons and nominating it for deletion here. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:18, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I am afraid that Stephan2 is correct.--Amadscientist (talk) 05:25, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
