• There's no hurry to resolve this, is there? They're very likely to be PD, but if they turn out not to be then I will add a fair use rationale for the articles in which they're used. I've written several times to the author of the article from which they were taken, asking him where he got them, which should tell us whether they're in fact PD. So far I haven't received a reply, but nor have my emails bounced, which means there is a valid account at that address. I don't know whether the gentleman is still alive, or if so how often he checks his email, etc. But I don't want to go to a fair use claim while there's still a chance of establishing that they are PD, since that is in fact very likely to be the case. -- Zsero (talk) 23:56, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
