This is covered in Italian Wikipedia, it:Wikipedia:Comunicato_4_ottobre_2011/en and Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2011-10-03/News and notes. Wikipedia essays are not a place to report on events that happened on other Wikimedia projects. John Vandenberg (chat) 02:27, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Userfy. I don't really see it as an essay, because it doesn't really reflect any opinion or advice. But if the user wants it somewhere here, there's no harm in it in userspace. bibliomaniac15 02:57, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Userfy per Bibliomaniac15. The creator may also wish to edit the mainspace Italian Wikipedia article, but needs to make sure to stick with NPOV in doing so, which is one reason allowing him to keep the essay may be better. Newyorkbrad (talk) 03:27, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. An essay can be any collection of information, opinion or similar related to the project. The subject is relevant to the project, English Wikipedia, even if tangentially with little fear of immediate relevance. As a record of what happened one day one a sister project, and relevance to this project, it could be improved. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:34, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I agree with SmokeyJoe's comment. Essays, while usually saturated with opinion, are not required to be subjective. I believe this essay is a valid, useful, informative addition to the Wikipedia namespace. Cunard (talk) 22:36, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
