Wikipedia:Help button (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Infrequently viewed page, only 1,236 total views. Only 36 pages link to this page. If it was a frequently used page it would likely be protected, but it isn't. FAdesdae378 (talk · contribs) 20:35, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - I don't see how not having much views or links would make it qualify for deletion. Also, it contains many links that may be helpful to people. weeklyd3 (message me | my contributions) 20:36, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There exist many other project pages on Wikipedia that are as helpful as Wikipedia:Help button. The page has not received substantial edits by Wikipedia users. Users most likely got there by Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Because the page has no protection whatsoever, it may become a target for vandalism if it becomes viewed more often. • Keep No valid reason offered for deletion.-- Pawnkingthree (talk) 20:41, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - fundamentally, because the nominator has not cited a single policy-grounded reason for deletion. In addition to that, it's a reasonably new page that someone has tried to get off the ground to help new users - should we be trying to delete stuff like that, or should we be trying to put our shoulders to the wheel and improve it? If it was a useful page it would have already been improved now. However, it has only received 5 revisions in 1 year. Established project pages usually receive much more than 5 revisions per year. FAdesdae378 (talk · contribs) 20:51, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do any of those points relate to any of the wording of the deletion policy? Girth Summit (blether) 20:53, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, while the nom says not many people view it, that's a shame since it is a good source for new and experienced users. I might even add a few links to it. We should have a one stop source. Further, as others pointed out, I haven't really seen a policy reason for deletion. Sir Joseph (talk) 20:55, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • speedy/snowball keep rationale doesn't meet the criteria for deletion. Close this and move on. Buffs (talk) 21:56, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Not sure what the point of this discussion is. How in the world is a button that hasn't caught on yet harming the project? valereee (talk) 22:05, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment @Levivich: Pinging him as he created this help button. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 22:58, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    I've been busy working on a new button: MFD this page Levivich[block] 01:51, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Nominator's reasoning is self-contradicting.--WaltCip-(talk) 16:07, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep – I had a conversation with Levivich about why something like this would be useful here and I think that it's useful to new editors even if it's a resource that isn't used much. I don't see any reason to delete it. Clovermoss (talk) 02:22, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - I've added the button to my user page, thanks for providing a reason for that. How will it improve the encyclopaedia if it was deleted? 0xDeadbeef 08:13, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: No valid reason to delete. This page is helpful for many newcomers as it provides instant buttons to report something and links to help pages/forums. --Baggaet (talk) 12:39, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I don't really see any compelling reason to delete, though it probably should be more widely used. — Ⓜ️hawk10 (talk) 19:08, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
