April Fool's joke in poor taste. See also Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Russia (3rd nomination) ~ Matthewrb Talk to me · Changes I've made 00:38, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete per the nominator. As a !voter in this April Fools' AfD, I thought that "deleting Putin" would be sort of justified, as he did cause a lot of suffering in Russia. However, April Fools' has been contentious, so I'd like it deleted for the record. Thanks. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 13:08, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Wikipedia is for bad jokes, per my comments here. While this is certainly (in my opinion) unfunny, and potentially offensive, political jokes that touch on controversy are by no means uncommon for April Fools' AfDs. Last year we got them for Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, cancel culture and Alternative for Germany. If this were in mainspace, I would understand the concern, but it's thoroughly hidden behind at least two layers of warnings and disclaimers (including a huge banner at the top of the MfD saying it isn't serious) -- to me, the clerical and emotional cost of turning ourselves into the WP:FUNPOLICE outweighs the hypothetical risk that someone would be bothered by this. jp×g 19:41, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete If someone feels the need to seriously MfD an April Fools joke, then that's evidence that it's more disruptive than funny * Pppery * it has begun... 04:18, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Surely, this is an unreasonable standard to go by. What if someone MfDed this MfD? Would that invalidate its outcome? jp×g 06:40, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion itself isn't an April Fools joke. * Pppery * it has begun... 12:49, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
