Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Unused userboxes (A1)

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the miscellaneous page below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the page's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this page.

The result of the discussion was Delete for User ARfrom and User Akron, no consensus for the rest. Nominator may wish to re-nominate them separately, since the lack of commonality (other than being unused userboxes) seems to have caused concerns. --RL0919 (talk) 22:42, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. All unused; no reason to delete. Being unused is not a reason to delete a userbox. --Bduke (Discussion) 00:57, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Userboxes that could be used. When I first started I was happy to use userboxes that I had no skill to create. It was much easier to pick them from a list. This would apply to many of our inexperinced users, and thgere is no reason to single out schools or locations for not having a userbox to use, when someone went to the effort to create. • Delete per nom. No reason to clutter the template space with hundreds (or thousands?) of unused material. We want new users to write articles not play with little boxes. --Kleinzach 01:14, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep AR backlog, and AVM as potentially useful, Delete Akron and ARfrom as redundant, no comment on Aesthetics Secret account 05:06, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, please don't create group nominations for userboxes that have nothing in common. This makes it harder to comment on them. {{User ARfrom}} is obviously redundant to {{User Arkansas}}, the latter has a clear naming scheme of "User <state>", which is good for usability. {{User AR backlog}} is redundant to many similar backlog templates. {{User AVM}} is just another unused university/school template, I'm already wondering if most of these rarely used ones are really necessary, but unused ones surely are not necessary. {{User Aesthetics}} is probably not that horrible, but since this is only a taskforce, and, unlike the template suggests, a WikiProject, it surely isn't necessary. {{User Akron}} is borderline already if used, unnecessary if unused, unless for very big cities, it should suffice to use {{User Ohio}}. Thus, I'd probably go with Delete all. --The Evil IP address (talk) 14:26, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
