Portal:Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant

Portal:Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Unneeded as a portal and if a misplaced article submission, currently exists at the same name in article space. Safiel (talk) 04:47, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. There is no need for a 'portal' right now. No justification yet. Coltsfan (talk) 20:02, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Oppose. A portal isn't necessary due to the low number of articles on the subject matter, but it is a well-designed page aiding general access to information about IS. It is a different, less detailed, way of providing similar information to that found in the article. I see no reason it should be deleted. Chessrat (talk) 21:04, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose I see no justification to delete this portal Abdesk2008 (talk) 18:19, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment by nominator At the time I nominated this 4 days ago, the portal was essentially just a piece of crap. The portal had been tagged for speedy deletion, which I declined as inapplicable, but prompted me to start this MfD. However, it has been totally rewritten into something that resembles a portal. :) I withdraw my nomination. HOWEVER. Since there is an active and valid support vote and comment in place, I cannot close this speedily, otherwise I would do so. However, for the closing administrator, please accept this comment as a withdrawal of the nomination, however, I will not endorse keeping this portal. Thanks. Not needed

What justification is there for having this portal? Every single piece of information in it can easily be retrieved from and read in the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" article or links from it. Do editors not have better things to do with their time? ~ P123ct1 (talk) 12:44, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This portal is just a place for insertion of unsourced POV crap without good oversight. Agree with P123ct. Legacypac (talk) 17:58, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
