Join us on International Women's Day in Oxford. We'll have a short talk on the gender gap on Wikipedia, learn how to edit, and then work on improving articles about and of interest to women!

Event Details

Interior of the Oxfordshire County Library Makerspace

Date & Location

Date: Thursday 8 March 2018

Time: 10:30am - 2pm

Location: Oxfordshire County Library, Oxford UK. Meets in the MakerSpace on the first floor.

Programme

10:30-10:45am: Talk: The Gender Gap on Wikipedia (Marielle Volz)

11:00am-2:00pm: Let's edit! Trainers will be on hand for anyone who needs help.

Registration

You can register for the talk on eventbrite. This is not required but is helpful for us to get an idea of the number of attendees.

If you are attending the editathon, please enroll on the outreach dashboard. You can also enroll on the day if you do not have a Wikipedia account and would like help setting one up.

Disability accessibility, children, & inclusion

All are welcome!

Unfortunately, the lifts to the first floor of the library are very small. There is a wheelchair available that fits in the lift available on request.

Infants and children are welcome to accompany their carers into the talk and editathon. There will be a small area set aside on the floor with toys and books for infants. The Makerspace is right next to the children's library if you need to leave at any point, and there are gender neutral toilets available on the same floor with changing tables. Parents are welcome to feed their infants (breast or bottle) in the venue.

If your questions or concerns are not addressed in this section, please bring them up in the talk page or to the organiser directly.
