Discussion

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

To assist anybody reading this page, here is my understanding of which of my edits have upset Punk Boi 8:

  • 16 July: I responded to question of whether it was a "good artical" (sic) with four obvious deficiencies. Article state at the time
  • 29 September: (not my edits, but relevant) Punk Boi 8 disputed the quality rating of the article (wanting it lifted from Start to B-class), and was refuted by Iorek85 and Gnangarra.
  • 29 September: Punk Boi 8 nominated Miami, Queensland for peer review (Wikipedia:Peer review/Miami, Queensland/archive1) and received three comments of which mine was second. All three suggested much work is still required. I cleaned up some spelling and links in the article at the same time.
  • I think I have only ever made one edit to Punk Boi 8's talk page, on 7 October after he nominated the article for GA without having made any of the requested improvements, and I removed it to save the reviewers premature effort.

It should probably be noted that Wikicats and I have used the Miami article as part of a discussion over the value of the article assessment, and have generally disagreed on that. I have not noticed if Punk Boi 8 has an opinion on assessment beyond trying to get that article classified as good or featured. I believe that all involved parties other than Punk Boi 8 consider that we have our own personal higher priorities than Miami, Queensland, but are happy to help or advise where we can within limits, but if Punk Boi 8 wants to get the article promoted, he must do much of the work. --Scott Davis Talk 13:25, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have decided to add Wikicats into this case after they were playing favourites.

This was left on Scott's talk page. I have italicised I would like the meditator to read.

Hi Scott. Here are the photos that you resquested for the Miami article. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] Use which ever are suitable. I have also notified User:Punk Boi 8 --WikiCats 13:02, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll get to them sometime if Nathan doesn't get there first. Then you and I can get back to what we each consider our own priority articles. --Scott Davis Talk 13:46, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Well... I had do something to make up for being so nasty. --WikiCats 10:18, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks - I picked up about 4 of them that I could imagine how they relate to the current text. If the rest fit, add them too. Eventually someone will respond to an peer review and complain if there are too many pictures, but that generally only happens once someone adds a gallery block, not just if the pictures fit down the sides. Ideally they should be spread left/right/left/right, but I don't think any sections are long enough to look right like that yet, and it sounds like neither of us want to do the research to extend them for Miami in the near future. I'm glad we eventually worked out we agree. Thanks for taking the photos. --Scott Davis Talk 10:36, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Also I have had to take action out against Longhair after comments after this.
