  • I have now added the SVG version as part of the debate. If the SVG version fails WP:NFCC#3b, then the PNG version should be kept, SVG deleted. George Ho (talk) 22:45, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Non-free svg and png version of what is essentially the same team badge isn't needed per WP:NFCC#3a reasons. Although there's some disagreement as to whether a vector version is eligible for it's own copyright simply because it's a vector version per c:COM:SVG#Copyright and WP:NFC#Multiple restrictions, they do seem to be acceptable as non-free content as long as the vector version was created by the orginal copyright holder. FWIW, the svg is sourced to www.fcbarcelona.com/en/ and if there's a vector version of the badge available on that website, then the svg should be fine. If not and the vector is user-created, then I guess it depends on whether the svg a true representation of the badge and perhaps whether the uploader did the vectorizing themselves. Non-free logo svgs seem to be the most problematice when they come from user-generated websites like Logopedia or personal websites where it's not clear who did the vectorizing or whether it's a true representation of the logo. As for WP:NFC#UUI17, I don't think it's really relevant when it comes to deciding which file to keep in terms of file format; in other words, whether a file a vector version or non-vector version has nothing to do with NFC#UUI17. NFC#UUI17 deals with how a file is being used and whether the articles it's being used in are considered to be parent entities or child entities for non-free use purposes. This svg was originally discussed Wikipedia:Non-free content review/Archive 69#File:FC Barcelona (crest).svg and the consensus of that discussion was that only the file's non-free use in FC Barcelona satisfies the NFCC. My guess is that someone mistakenly assumed that by uploading another version of the file that it would be OK to use in other articles; this is not, however, the case and was probably just a good faith misunderstanding. (This happens sometimes because people mistakenly assume that a non-free file was removed from an article because the same non-free file cannot be used in multiple articles or multiple ways; so, they think uploading another version of bascially the same file (either in a different format or under a different file name makes things OK.) It makes no difference as which of the two files is kept because currently the only acceptable way to use the file is in the infobox of FC Barcelona, and the png should be removed from the other articles where it's currently being used unless a new consensus is established in favor of the team badge's use in those articles. If such a new consensus is established, then the file which is kept will need to have rationales added to it's page for the other uses deemed acceptable (i.e. the articles where the deleted file was being used). -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:09, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete File:FC Barcelona B logo.png, retain File:FC Barcelona (crest).svg. I recall a conversation where we determined that svg versions of NFC images were acceptable. I don't know where that conversation was, but is likely somewhere in the archives of WT:NFC. Regardless, File:FC Barcelona B logo.png is being inappropriately used in FC Barcelona Handbol and FC Barcelona Ice Hockey, and it also has a rationale for FC Barcelona B where it shouldn't be used. File:Barcelona Atlético.png is being used instead, which should be removed; the branding is not different nor specific to the crest being in a diamond instead of a shield, which is trivial. Note that at the team's website for Barca B, the shield is in use; not the diamond (as seen at the header of the page and on the team's uniforms). These are failures of WP:NFC#UUI #17. --Hammersoft (talk) 13:45, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A proposal last year to ban converting raster versions into vector ones failed (see discussion here). As I see, you commented on the proposal (or something else related to the matter). Well, limits vs vector graphics have been an issue for a long time (tap here and there). I hope the results can refresh your memory. George Ho (talk) 14:17, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: The same thing I posted above essentially applies here. The problem with this file is not that it's a child entity of another file. It's that it's essentially the same as File:FC Barcelona (crest).svg minus the "Barca" text (which is a non-copyrightable element) from a NFCC standpoint and two non-free files of the same thing aren't really needed per WP:NFCC#3a. Since the svg was previously discussed at WP:NFCR and the consensus established was that the Barcelona logo should only be used in FC Barcelona, this file's use in FC Barcelona Bàsquet is not really considered acceptable and a new consensus needs to be established in favor of that use. If it is, then whichever of File:FC Barcelona (crest).svg, File:FC Barcelona Bàsquet logo.svg, File:FC Barcelona B logo.png is kept is the one that can also be used in the article about the basketball team. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:22, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A sample of the recording of a live duet performance may be insufficiently supported by critical commentary of God Help the Outcasts and may fail WP:NFCC#8, even when trimmed and/or downgraded per MOS:SAMPLE and WP:NFCC#3b. Furthermore, there are already two samples: one from a Disney film, another by Bette Midler. George Ho (talk) 19:07, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unconvinced that the screenshot of a smoke depicting a main antagonist's fantasies for a female character is necessary. Possibly also insufficiently supported by reliable sources verifying critical commentary. May fail WP:NFCC#8. George Ho (talk) 19:13, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
