unused, low-res, superior version available: File:1903 06 20 Call-of-the-Wild-Sat-Eve-Post-Cover.jpg FASTILY 06:45, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Keep for now because I'm certain the color in the "unused, low-res" version is faithful to the original, (see e.g here or here), and it was the one originally chosen to be in the article, (here) and in fact referenced in a source. The "superior version available: File:1903 06 20 Call-of-the-Wild-Sat-Eve-Post-Cover.jpg" seems to me too bleached, though it's a good resolution. I've been temporarily inactive because of health reasons and would like a bit of time to research and replace this version with a higher res one, rather than summarily delete. Thanks for that. I've moved the file to Commons. Given that Wikipedia is not a webhost for unused files, I still think the local copy should be deleted -FASTILY 03:08, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can't we just keep this file entry & overwrite the low-res image with one of the higher res images? I'll do it as soon as I can get to it; the entire article has been hit hard recently & needs an overhaul & am trying to get to it. Victoria (tk) 04:30, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

unused low-res crop of File:Rags to Riches Horse at Belmont Park.JPG. No obvious encyclopedic use FASTILY 06:46, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In the full photo, the horse is barely visible. The detail focuses on the horse. “Low res” is not adequate justification to remove an image. Montanabw(talk) 01:20, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"In the full photo, the horse is barely visible. The detail focuses on the horse."
The horse is partially blocked by a person and the image is of such low resolution that it could literally be any random horse in the picture; a casual reader would be unlikely able to tell the difference.
"“Low res” is not adequate justification to remove an image"
Fake news. Read the box at the top of Wikipedia:Files for discussion. -FASTILY 04:26, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
