Comment Please explain to me how this works. Is the file being discussed being proposed for deletion? Can editors say whether they favor Keep or Delete? Dthomsen8, this process is fairly new in its current form (before the restructuring we had, your file would have been in: Wikipedia:Non-free content review). What Stefan2 is telling you is that use of the image fails WP:NFCC#8 and that non-free images that fail any of the 10 criteria may be deleted (WP:NFCCE). This image is of UK vinyl release. There is the other image of US vinyl release, which represents the band and its nationality more accurately. Sources discussing this image may be absent (i.e. not found). Also, a reader may understand the UK edition without this image. George Ho (talk) 06:24, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep I understood that if a different region album cover was very different from the one in the infobox that we could use a second non-free image such as this if a proper rationale was provided. @ww2censor: I previously advocated for keeping an extra single cover. However, administrators like Masem agree to use just one non-free image. In this case, they identify different releases of the same song, but removing the UK image does not affect the understanding of the song. In fact, readers should know what the lyrics are all about. Removing it doesn't affect readers' understanding of the song's and the band's source country (i.e. nationality). --George Ho (talk) 20:27, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's not as simple as just using one cover. Ideally, yes, only one cover should be used and that being of the region of first release, but it's been determined that for albums and singles, if there is an alternate cover in a major region that is significantly different from the original region's release, it is acceptable to use a second cover. Something is weird here.

According to the fair use rationale, this is a logo for United National Party, a political party. According to the article, it is an 'election symbol' for the party. I don't know if an 'election symbol' is a logo or not. The picture seems to appear on the party's website.

The picture is additionally used in United National Front (Sri Lanka), for which there is no fair use rationale, so the picture violates WP:NFCC#10c there. United National Front (Sri Lanka) seems to be an alliance of parties, and United National Party seems to be one of those parties. The picture is claimed to be an 'election symbol' for this alliance. I can't find any link to a website for the alliance anywhere in the article.

I think that it is strange that an alliance of several parties would use a symbol specifically associated with one of the parties, so I suspect that the picture only should be in one of the articles, unclear which one. There is also the problem that the picture is identified as a 'logo' on the file information page but as an 'election symbol' in the articles, so the FUR may be faulty, and the file needs a rationale for each article too.     - How is actually seeing this logo significantly contributing to the reader's understanding of this section of the article? Does the reader actually need to see the logo to understand any of the discussion about the Canadian Lady Corset Company to the extent that removing the logo would be detrimental to that understanding. If there was some discussion of the particulars of the logo's design or its significance which reflected what a reliable source was saying (otherwise, it would be considered original research), then I could see how NFCC#8 would be satisfied. The logo is not, however, being used that way so usage seems to be primarily decorative and thus not necessary. Delete: the source website has "All rights reserved" notices on all pages I looked at. We have no actual indication if this image was ever published or even when it was created or by whom.
