Making a second go-round to get this article promoted. I think it is a comprehensive and well-written summary of the career of a politician who couldn't seem to escape controversy. Comments: Support + image review.

"then convincingly won the general election over his Republican challenger." adding challenger's name would be helpful.
"Turmoil marked the legislative sessions of Brown's term. His" semicolon may be better here

All four images are clearly PD per the sources (PD-US for the last two). Only tweak I would make is that the PD-US tag on Butler's pic isn't needed, it's clearly full PD.

Support. I can find very little to comment on; this is another fine article on a Kentucky governor. I haven't spotchecked sources for close paraphrasing but will do so in the next couple of days if I can find time.

The hatnote phrasing seems a little odd: "served political office"; shouldn't it be "served in political posts" or "held political office"?
- I had a standard hatnote template up there, but during my last FAC run with this article, someone changed it because of the unique nature of having four men with very similar names who are notable for very similar reasons. I still prefer the standard hatnote, but I'm open to suggestions.
Why isn't Brown's second stint in the House reflected in the infobox? If it's because the seat was declared vacant, then I think the lead should be rephrased to avoid saying he was "in" the House -- perhaps say he won three elections, which is true.
- I've made a stab at rephrasing it, but there isn't a very concise way to express this, is there?
"made failed races" -- I don't think one makes a race; I'd go with either "failed in earlier attempts" or "had already run unsuccessfully".
- No quibbles with changing this.
