Crazysane (talk · contribs) I would appreciate some comments on my standing with the community because I am considering a RfA. I would like to assist in the RfSD and the protecting of pages when their is consensus or the need of fast action in the case of rampant vandalism. Before I do so, I would like to see what the community believes. Matthew Glennon(Talk) 18:14, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

My first review, so here goes:

  1. I noticed you almost never use edit summaries. Please use them as they are an invaluable resource to other editors who would like to see or find what changes you've made without having to hunt through every individual diff.
  2. You will likely need at least 4 more months of regular editing to have any chance of passing an RfA. As of right now, you have only 2 months of active editing experience with a long break in between. A substatial number of those edits have been to your own user or user talk page which won't count in the eyes of RfA voters. I've seen some of the voters at RfA require at least 2,000 edits from any future admin, though with a clean editing record, you may be able to squeak in with less.
  3. As an admin, you will be required to communicate with many other editors, some who will question your decisions. You haven't yet had a need, it appears, to do much communication with other wikipedians and this will weigh against you in a RfA. With more experience, I'm sure you will have more interactions, and RfA voters will have something to evaluate you with.

I haven't seen anything bad and you seem to be doing a good job thus far. My recommendations right now: 1) gain some more experience with editing and Wikipedia policies, 2) always use edit summaries (there's a check box in your preferences to remind you, if you wish), and 3) keep up the good work. Lastly, I noticed you do some work as a fact checker. Consider donating some time at WP:DYK and checking over some of the new suggestions. --Millbrooky (talk) 20:35, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

I generally work more toward the maintenance side of Wikipedia. Working as a RC-Cop, as well as Fact Checker. Because of this, I really do not have any substantial articles I can claim. Despite the lack of written articles, I am proud of my maintenance work and vandalism repair. (My Userboxes can be reviewed in order to get an accurate representation of who I am, and what I do.)

2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

I have been in a few conflicts, and have dealt with them with ASG in mind. I rarely delete anything from my Usertalk page, and it can be reviewed for all the issues I have run into.
