Poorly referenced biography failing general notability guideline and, specifically, the notability guideline for creative professionals. Even the subject's own resume doesn't assert notability to WP standards. ClaretAsh 00:09, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nightmare - Just makes me sad.I did click on the previous 'news' link and saw nothing, but since the news link for his other name comes up with a kidnapping, now I'd like to confirm it's not the same guy. LoveUxoxo (talk) 00:52, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment – Doesn't seem to be. That person works for a competitor, a Dubai-based group. I tried looking into this subject's ample internet CVs but couldn't find anything about having worked for the competitor. From what I can tell, there's no overt connection. I'll watch here in case I'm wrong; my Urdu isn't stellar. JFHJr (㊟) 02:48, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I'd like to say delete, but my Urdu skills are non existent. I rolled back the article to the last version by JC Bills. Another new editor added a couple of unreferenced paragraphs, atleast the references went no where. Mr. Malik has asked before on how to create an article about him, but he used a username that has been dormant for a bit. Bgwhite (talk) 08:53, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete – As far as I can tell, this subject doesn't pass WP:BASIC requirements of substantial coverage in reliable sources. Also as far as I can tell, this subject isn't the same person who worked for a competitor and received marginally more coverage as a victim of torture. At least I can't find any overt connection. Finally, assuming it is the same person, I'm not sure the incident is sufficient to support a stand-alone WP:BLP1E (see WP:BIO1E). If someone can provide citations indicating the contrary, I'll be glad to change my !vote. JFHJr (㊟) 00:13, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete, there's simply no evidence, nor even a claim, that he has ever received anything like significant coverage in an independent reliable source. Glenfarclas (talk) 05:45, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep and expand - Well the article is about a journalist /reporter of Urdu TV News One operated in Pakistan. News One is supposed to be backed by Pakistani Establishment and having millions of viewership among urbanised Pakistanis. Youtube videos appended as refernces show that the person is an Islamabad-based reporter of the said TV channel and somehow also notable. I mean, he cannot at least be called non-notable. --SubContinentalAnalyst (talk) 07:11, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- There's no doubt that News One is notable, but that isn't the question. This discussion concerns whether this particular journalist is independently notable. If he's notable for nothing other than being a News One reporter, then he may warrant a mention at that article. ClaretAsh 08:25, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I have just reviewed the Youtube videos (in Urdu) appended as references with the article. The same assert notibility of the journalist /reporter. The article is thus worthy of keeping and expansion instead of blatant deletion at least at this initial stage. --SubContinentalAnalyst (talk) 08:58, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- I think, we should not expect a refined stuff at this stage. Intellectual activity on Wikipedia is all about evolution. Let this article too go through the evolutionary process. I am sure it would be developed well with the passage of time. As for notability, it exists in the minds of the people on influences. People like this young journalist have their own sphere of influence - their audience. So, I propose we don't delete this article.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.110.91.232 (talk • contribs) — 175.110.91.232 (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
- Delete. Just too soon. Working for a notable news channel does not make him notable yet - at this stage it is a resume builder. He is still (just) only in his 20s. Wrote sports for some newspapers, then appeared on TV a bit. He may end up as the Walter Cronkite of Pakistan, but right now I don't see how he has sufficient notability. --Legis (talk - contribs) 03:07, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Basically I discourage the deletion, but in this article I don't see and find any reliable reference to remain the article,to be journalist or reporter does not mean notable, there should be at least one reliable reference so that the article could be remained and expanded. As I am very familiar of this subject of area, and I have searched the google to find any one reliable reference but I failed. Therefore,I am sorry to propose for deletion.Ehsan Sehgal (talk) 09:11, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
